William Thompson's P.O.V

Not a noise was heard for a solid thirty seconds. I banged the chair against the door several more times before pausing to listen. Another thirty seconds and not one noise.

"Come on" I banged on the door a third time and listened. Still, Nothing.

"Goddammit!!" I bashed the chair against the door several more times before taking one more pause. This time however I finally heard that pattern of frantic footsteps coming closer.

I smashed another cabinet for good measure before leaning against the wall on the left side of the door.

"Gosh, what's with all the n-" The synthetic siren's voice cut off as she opened the viewport. She gasped and I heard the lock move. I fumbled a little as I raised the chair above my head and waited for the door to open. Slowly the metal door was pushed in and the siren's head poked forwards to take a brief look before meeting my gaze.

I then swung the chair and it smashed into her head with a loud bang.

"aAGh-GahAaH!!" Her scream glitched as I dropped the chair and sprinted past her down the hall with my left arm held in my right.

I passed by several of the same metal doors all lined up along the left side of the hall. Across from them was nothing but smooth concrete.

At the end of the corridor, I turned left while frantically searching for any sign of an exit. Behind me, I heard the enraged scream of the siren who sounded like she was about to recover and so I desperately picked up my pace.

Finally to the right was a set of stairs that went upwards. As the siren shouted out once again I hurried up the steps only to find it blocked off by what looked like a cellar's entrance

"No, No!" I bashed on the two doors.

"Darling! You're lucky I want you alive!!" The Siren's voice rang out. I used my right shoulder to bash upwards but the doors were locked from the outside. By now I heard a skid and frantic footsteps down the hall as I bashed on the two doors again.

I took a few steps down and ran back up putting my shoulder forward. I collided with the doors and they flung open making me lose my balance and fall to the ground outside.

I fumbled around as I frantically turned back to shut the doors. From inside I heard the siren scream as I picked myself up and ran off.

"Where the hell am I?" I looked around. All that surrounded me were bushes and trees.

"Cherry blossoms?...No!" A realization hit me as I ran through the bushes. Up ahead was an opening to what looked like structures.

Cautiously I exited the shrubbery to find a bridge and several large red arches. To my right past the arches were several distinctive buildings making my heart sink further.

Then I heard giggling which forced me back into the bushes. Two girls walked along the bridge in yukatas talking to one another. "Why do I have to be in the Sakura Empire" I spoke to myself as the ships passed.

"How am I going to get out of here" I exited the bushes once more and sprinted towards the buildings. If there was any way I could go unseen my best bet would be to dodge around them and through the back alleys.

As I slowly moved around the first building I was stopped in my tracks by the sound of more laughter. Quickly I hid behind a pillar and stared down the path as the two ships from before came into view. As I watched them chat together my breath hitched as they then turned down the path heading straight towards me. Without thinking I opened the door next to me and rushed into a home, my fast actions caused me to trip on my own footing as I slid the door closed.

As I laid on the floor watching the door a noise emitted from behind making me look over.

A ship sat at a small table, her arms were outstretched as if she was holding something and shards of what looked like a cup was scattered in front of her, laying next to her was a sword its blade gleaming in the lamplight. Her hair was a natural brown stuck in a ponytail and her clothing pattern was white and red.  Her eyes stared into mine as she wore a shocked look on her face.

"Y-Your that human commander, of Azur Lane!" She exclaimed. "What are you doing here!?"

"I-"

"No matter!" She grabbed her sword and took a stance. "I'll kill you where you stand!"

"Oh sweet mother of-" I Jumped out of the way as she dashed towards me. Her sword slashing through the paper shoji doors. "Stay still!" She swung her sword again this time nicking just above my hip. Though it was only small it along with my sprained arm made me hiss in annoyance.

As she readied herself for another swing I watched as she created an opening to the broken door. As she swung down I rolled out of the way and ran out the door past the two girls who stopped to see the commotion.

"Get back here!!" I heard the attacking ship yell as I sprinted down the path and onto the street. Taking a brief look back I saw her chase after.

I hopped over a railing and landed onto what must have been the main road as several ships gasped at my sudden entrance.

"Stop him!!" My pursuer said above on the ledge. As she was about to hop down as well I burst through the crowd and down the busy street trying not to run into anyone.

Just then an alarm began to blare as I jumped over a bench and down an alleyway. I could hear my assailant call out to me however It seemed that she was lost for now as I ran through the alleys passing much fewer people. Ahead of me, I could see the docks, I didn't know what I could do there but it would be much better than running around a bustling town.

Several minutes would pass with me dodging the population while making my way to the docks. Hiding in between buildings and under crates until I finally made it.

"How am I supposed to get off this island anyhow?" I rushed around the docks, Several ships were moored but none I could ride. Perhaps If I found a radio and a rowboat I could get somewhere.

Several kinds of thoughts came to my head as I ran around the docks, Perhaps I could find a motor here somewhere and fasten it to a boat. Whatever the case I had to get off this island and back to Azur Lane.

Only when I rushed around a corner were my thoughts were interrupted as I crashed into something, no, rather someone.
