Ontario's P.O.V
"Heads up!!" Someone shouted as I dove out of the way to avoid a siren plane coming in for a strafe. The water sprouted up like little fountains all around us as projectiles whizzed past. It hadn't been long since we reached the siren fleet and already they were giving us their all. While the bigger ships tackled the Orochi, we were the ones who were taking care of the siren ships that accompanied it. Though it is somewhat easy, dodging constant artillery and aircraft was not fun.
"It's coming back!"
I stared up to see the plane loop around at an impossible angle and stare us straight in the face. I crouched down and covered my head as I hadn't many other places to go being pinned between two siren ships. As I waited for the hail of bullets a familiar sound became increasingly louder as its piston engine was pushed to its limit. Then the sound of machine-gun fire sounded off as I looked up to see a fireball come crashing into the sea and one of Maggie's Sea Furies zip through the cloud of smoke.
"Ata girl Maggie!!" Haida shouted as she shook her fist at the passing plane.
"Don't lose focus!" I then shouted before firing my guns into the hull of the siren ship next to me. "Thin their numbers!"
"With pleasure!!" Haida shouted with pride before charging off. St. Laurent and Vancouver also split apart to tackle separate ships on their own.
The sirens numbers had tripled our own and their stiff resistance wasn't helping us at all. Rounds whizzed through the air as their planes and cannons fired upon us. The battle became somewhat repetitive as I continued to exchange fire with the crowding siren ships, eventually sinking some and heavily damaging others while occasionally dodging incoming fire. Every now and again a plane would line up for a strafe and I'd find myself jumping out of the way. They were becoming increasingly irritating as time went by and the Orochi still hadn't been taken out. I didn't know what the bigger ships were up to but whatever they were doing to that thing certainly wasn't working.
"Look out!!" Someone screamed as I was pushed over. Just then a splash could be heard and both I and my rescue were drenched in seawater. "Thanks Victoria" I mentioned as she helped me up.
"Well, well we've got ourselves some live targets" An electronic voice rang out. Both Victoriaville and I looked up in shock to see several battleship class sirens floating above us.
"Easy pickings, I'd prefer something with a little more armor" Another spoke as its guns lowered in our direction.
"Scatter!" I said to Victoria, we both split apart as the siren fired her beam of energy towards us. The beam smashed into the waves as I took cover behind a damaged siren ship. I hopped onto its slanted deck and crept towards its structure as I reloaded the magazines in my turret.
"Agile ones they are, Come out now, no point in prolonging your lives" I could hear one of the sirens say. "Looks like a game of hide and seek then"
I quickly popped out from the structure and fired two shells into the side of one siren before quickly ducking back into cover, the siren wailed in agony as I heard it splash into the ocean.
"That wasn't nice of-" Another siren tried to speak but was cut off when the sound of two other guns rang out whom I assumed belonged to victoria. The siren groaned before swapping to an enraged screach. "I'll kill you!" It screamed before I heard its cannons go off "Come here!" It then said before I heard it rush off. Thinking it was now clear I began to creep back out from cover, as I popped my head out of cover however I came face to face with the third siren I had already forgotten about. I recoiled in fear as it grabbed a hold of my throat with a wicked smile on its face. "Found you" It said in an amused tone while it began to choke me. It began to lift me up as I spastically tried to release myself from its grip, desperately grabbing and scratching at its hand which held its own ground around my neck.
