William Thompson's P.O.V
"Sir!?" A familiar accent exclaimed. When I looked up I found two maid like girls and a smaller one who resembled a cat. "Your Royal Navy?" I asked.
"Sir we thought you were dead what are you doing here!?" They ignored me as the silver-haired ship spoke. "I don't know! What's with the cat?"
"Never mind we need to go!" The blond shouted as she grabbed my good arm and pulled me along the dock next to a carrier. "I would prefer to carry gold ingots" The silver one complained later as she held the cat who I assumed was a Sakura Empire ship.
"You can complain later. Why are you bothering with the extra load Edinburgh!" The blond said.
"Don't you dare leave me behind!" The cat squeaked.
"Won't you quit following us? What can we do?" Edinburgh said.
"They would have put me out of my mewsery! I'd be history! Dead cats tell no tales, y'know?"
"I suppose we have no choice. Let's see this through then" The blond said. She then picked up her speed as we neared the end of the dock towards open water.
"Uh, how will I get across the ocean?" I asked the blond. She put her arm around my waist. "Hold onto my shoulder!" She said and I did as she asked. "Tightly!" She shouted as we jumped into the water. I held tight as we hit the sea and they glided off, my legs however dragged along the ocean's surface.
The wail of the island's alarm would slowly diminish behind us as we hurried away from the Sakura Empire. "We're clear if we make it to that island!" Edinburgh shouted as she pointed towards a landmass.
"On your right!" The blond warned as the waves exploded next to Edinburgh. The blond and I looked towards where the shot came from. Atop a sunken arch stood what appeared to be a heavy cruiser. "Not so fast!" She said.
"Edinburgh take them and go ahead without me" The blond dropped me into the water only going under for a second before floating to the top. "-you sure?" I heard just the end of Edinburgh's sentence as the water cleared from my ears. Without answering the blond charged towards the heavy cruiser.
"Just take my hand and drag me" I held my hand up. Edinburgh paused before grabbing my hand and pulling me backwards. Water surged over my head making it difficult for me to breathe.
A gap in the surge gave me enough view to see the heavy cruiser begin her attack. Suddenly Edinburgh yanked on my arm and my head was lifted above the wave. "Are you okay sir?" She asked as she guided me onto a rock. My first response was to cough up any water that escaped into my lungs. "I'm fine" I then croaked. When I looked up Edinburgh and the cat had climbed further along the rocks and were watching the fight. Once my fit of coughing died down I too joined them.
"What should we do? What should we do?" Edinburgh worried as she watched the blond and the heavy cruiser clash.
"Um, maybe we should hightail it outta here" The cat replied while I began to look around.
"We can't just leave her. Right sir?"
My eyes set upon an old motorboat that was docked next to a very conspicuous sign. 'Unexploded bomb disposal area. Danger, none shall enter'
"I think I have a partial idea" I said and began climbing over towards the area.
"What are mew talking about?" The cat said as the two of them followed me. As we came closer the bombs that the sign had been warning us about came into view from behind a rock. "Grab two of that Ill check the boat" I ordered and clambered on board the boat. The two did as I asked as I found a key still slotted into the starter, I turned the key over but nothing happened. "For heaven's sake!" I turned around and found a hatch to the engine.
"What's wrong?" Edinburgh asked as she and the green cat came back with the bombs.
"Just strap those to the side of the boat" I ignored her question and opened the hatch, Sure enough, the battery was completely corroded. Next to the engine was another hatch that I opened second. Thankfully luck had been on my side today as several wires and a spare battery sat inside, this one much less corroded.
I ripped the old battery and attached the new one to the connectors. After throwing the corroded one onto the rocks and shutting the hatch, I turned around to find the green cat just finish tieing down the second bomb. This entire time my left arm had been pulsating in pain however I was doing everything I could to keep it off my mind.
"Let's try it again" I rushed back to the console and turned the key over once more, this time after a few spits the engine coughed to life. "This is really stupid hang on!" I warned and grabbed hold of the throttle turning it all the way up. The bow of the boat lifted out of the water for a brief second as it gained tremendous speed already flying around the rocks and towards the action. As the fight came into view I saw a third ship had entered the fight. All three ships turned to face our direction as we came closer.
"Sheffy grab my hand!" Edinburgh outstretched her arm over the side of the boat. However, all of a sudden an explosion rang out behind us. "It's on fire you gotta be kitten me!" The cat screamed as we turned around to see the busted engine.
"Time to bail!!" I shouted as I grabbed the two and pulled them overboard. We sunk into the sea as the boat exploded right in front of the three ships. A hand then grabbed my right arm and pulled me to the surface. "We need to go while we still can!" The blond shouted as she lifted me up. Edinburgh also picked the cat up as we began gliding off to anywhere but here.
"I don't suppose the rest of the navy standing by in international waters?" I asked, hoping for a good answer.
"They are, but they are very far out" Sheffy replied to me with a somewhat good answer.
"Thank god, let's find a place to hide"
