~~Chapter 14~~
Layla's POV
Ok I was freaking out, who wouldn't be? It's now a day before my wedding day. I've done nothing so nerve racking. I picked up my dress yesterday, today was my relax day until the rehearsal dinner. I thought I would go to the basketball courts, I could play, just not like a pro. I grabbed the basketball that I bought when I came down here, it was my three favorite colours; blue, pink and purple.
When I reached the basketball courts no one was there, that was a good thing though because I didn't want anyone to see how badly I played. I was there for about four hours, at some point i got bored with basketball and did some gymnastics skills, theres nothing new there. I got bored so I decided to go back home. And get ready for the rehearsal dinner since it was four already, and I had to be there at 6.
I walked slowly back to my house, trying to help my nerves. I'm getting married tomorrow, I don't even know if I'm ready for this. I mean it's a big step, but I love ash right? and that's enough for me to do it. I reached my house half an hour later, due to me walking slowly.
I laid out a simple red dress that looked stunning, and some black heels to complement it. I undressed myself and took a shower, the water run down my bare back relaxing me more. If I could I would stay here forever, but sadly it had to come to an end sooner or later.
I hopped out of the shower, making a towel hug my body tightly while I blow dried my hair. Once my hair was dry I curled it. I walked into my bedroom, to get changed into the red dress. It hugged my chest tightly and it flowed loosely down from my waist. I found a black handbag, I put my wallet in it. Then I started to take a four minute walk to hotel for the dinner.
I forced a fake smile when meeting all the guests. I don't know why, I just didn't feel happy. I closed my eyes and took three deep breaths, then continuing greeting people.
I did witness the fight between my step-dad and my dad. They were fighting over who was walking me down the aisle tomorrow. My dad says he should because I'm his daughter, and my stepdad thinks he should because he raised me when my real dad left. Overall it was really funny.
I sat down on a chair pouring myself a drink, when Daniella sat next to me. "Layla what's wrong? You haven't been acting like yourself the whole night." She said. Her voice was filled with concern. I take a deep breath and sigh, I honestly didn't know what was wrong so how was I supposedly be able to talk about it. "It just feels like something's wrong." I shrugged it off, not wanting to talk about the topic. "Ok" was just her response.
She knew that there was something off about me, yet she knows that I don't know what's wrong with me so she knows not to push it.
Maybe this isn't what my life should be like. Was my new life going to be this stressful? I had no idea, which freaked me out.
It was weird Ash hasn't talked to me all night, when I have walked near him he would walk away. Is that normal for your future husband to walk away from you, and ignore your presences completely. He has been talking to a very attractive female all night, her name is Hannah, she was an old friend of Ash's. Has he been cheating on me the whole time we've been together. If he was, why would he propose to me then? That question flooded my head the whole time of the rehearsal dinner. What if we don't love each other any more, a little voice in my head said.
