Finding A Club

Caroline woke up to her alarm clock at 6:30 like she normally did. She walked, still half asleep, to her bathroom to take a shower and get ready for school. As she walked to the bus stop, she was overwhelmed with excitement at the thought of seeing her new friends at school. The bus pulled up to her after about 10 minutes of waiting, and she got on the bus and made her journey to her new school. When she finally got to school after the 45 minute drive, she was still early. Then, Taylor came from behind her and tapped her on the shoulder, which partially startled.

"Hey Caroline" said Taylor. "Hi Taylor," said Caroline "what are you doing here? It's still pretty early." Taylor looked at her with an odd look and started giggling. "I could ask you the same question" she said. As they were talking, Taylor realized that Caroline was still brand new to Joseph Anderson High School. "Hey didn't you say you like music and soccer?" asked Taylor. "Yes. I did," said Caroline "why do you ask?" "Because," said Taylor "you're new and we gotta get you in some kind of activity. It'll help you make friends." "Well alright then," said Caroline "can you help me look for one?" "Of course" said Taylor.

Later that day, Caroline was carrying her history book as she was talking to Naomi after history class, which they had for the 3rd period. "So what did your mom say about you going to the dance Caroline?" asked Naomi. "She said that she was fine with it" said Caroline. "Okay great" said Naomi. After she said that, the bell rang, signaling that is was time for her next class.

Upon hearing the bell, Caroline realized that she was quite a distance from her next class. As she ran to her next class, she bumped into another student, causing her to drop the book that she was holding. When the student saw this, he reached down to pick up the book for her. "I believe you dropped this" said the student. But Caroline was in such a rush to get to her next class, that she didn't even look up at him.

Luckily, she able to get to her next class on time and finish out her school day. After the final period ended, Caroline caught with Naomi, Jessica, Taylor, and Michelle so that they could help her find a school activity that she liked. Immediately, Jessica had an idea. "Hey Caroline," she said "since you like music, why not join the concert band. Me and Michelle are in it and it's really fun. You want to try it?" "Okay sure I'll try concert band" said Caroline.

With that, Caroline, Michelle, Naomi, and Jessica made their way to the band room. When they entered the band director was sitting down playing his trumpet. "Hello Michelle," he said "hello Jessica. What can I do for you?" "Well this is Caroline," Michelle said as she was pointing at Caroline "she wants to join the concert band." When she said that, the director looked at Caroline for a small moment and smiled. "Hello my name is Ron," he said "I am not one of those teachers that like to be addressed by their last name. I consider all of my students to be my family. So you can just call me Ron." "Well it is nice to meet you Ron" said Caroline. "The pleasure is all mine," said Ron "so what can you play?" "Well you can just give me whatever you want to give me," said Caroline "I'm a quick learner." When she said that, Ron began to grin. "Well in that case," said Ron "come back tomorrow after school and I will have something for you." "Okay then" said Caroline. With that, Caroline, Michelle, Jessica, and Naomi, left the band room, and they each went home and prepared for the next day.
