Chapter 1

Alianna Snyder was the newest agent to the BAU. She was being transferred from Portland's field office and it was her first day. Her desire to do good and perceptiveness lead her to the FBI and then on to the BAU. Alianna would never think in a million years that she would get into the BAU, but here she is now.
Her footsteps could be heard as she walked into her new unit. She scanned the room and noticed a man sitting at his desk. He could help her find Agent Hotchner's office... hopefully. She walked up to him and stopped at the edge of his desk.
"Um, can you help me? I'm Agent Alianna Snyder... I'm looking for Agent Hotchner's office," Alianna introduced herself to the man and asked for help.
"You're the new girl... I'm Derek Morgan," He introduced himself, "Hotch's office is up there."
He pointed her in the right direction. She thanked him softly and walked in the direction he pointed. Alianna stopped outside Agent Hotchner's office and steadied herself. She took a deep breath in before walking into the office with a professional smile.
"Agent Hotchner, I presume?" She asked politely.
"You must be Agent Snyder," Hotch held his hand out for her to shake.
"That would be me, it's a pleasure to meet you," Alianna shook his hand firmly.
"The pleasure's all mine," Hotch responded as he withdrew his hand, "I let you get settled in, your desk will be next to Dr. Reid."
"Thank you," Alianna said gratefully. Before she could walk out of the room a blonde woman came in to tell them they had a case.
"You can introduce yourself to the team at the round table then," Hotch told her. She followed him and the blonde woman to a room with red walls and a circular table in the middle. Her eyes scanned the room and she saw the man she talked to earlier, two other men, and a woman she hadn't met as well as Hotch and the blonde woman who came to get them.
"Who's this?" The dark-haired woman pointed to Alianna.
"Team, this is Agent Alianna Snyder, she has been transferred to the BAU," Hotch told them.
"I look forward to working with you all," Alianna spoke up with a smile.
The rest of the team introduced themselves to her, then it was on to the investigation. JJ, the blonde woman from earlier, explained the details of the case. 3 unmarried couples were killed in a small town in Oklahoma. Alianna made sure to write down any theories that came to mind in little notebook as she took down the details of the case. She must have been stuck in her thoughts because Morgan had to snap her out of it.
"Time to go, Snyder," Morgan literally snapped his fingers in front of her.
"My apologies," Alianna stood up and gathered her case file.
"It's all good, I'll walk you out to the jet," Morgan told her.
"I will never get used to that..." Alianna mumbled to herself as she followed Morgan out.
