Prentiss and Alianna were on their way back from the hospital. Alianna had volunteered to drive, and Prentiss agreed after a bit of back and forth. Originally they were going to go back to the field office, then they got a call from Garcia. Prentiss had answered it on speaker.
"Is everyone okay?" Prentiss asked as Alianna drove. That question was running through Alianna's mind as well.
"I've spoken to Rossi and Reid, and Morgan's on the line," Garcia answered.
"Emily where are you?" Morgan asked.
"Alianna is driving, we're following Detective Brustin to one of the NYPD's critical incident command posts," Emily answered.
"One of them?" Garcia inquired, quieter than normal.
"Yeah, after 9/11 they decentralized," Morgan answered her, "They had way too many eggs in one basket on that day."
"What about JJ or Hotch?" Alianna asked, anxiety making its course through her thoughts.
"JJ was headed back to the hotel," Prentiss spoke up, glancing at Alianna.
"In an SUV?" Garcia asked with a worried tone.
"I think so," Prentiss answered, her tone wavering as well. Alianna let out a shaky breath.
"Stay with me, I'm going to dial her mobile," Garcia told them all. Alianna began to pray that JJ was okay, something she hadn't done in a long time.
"This is Agent Jareau, communications director for the FBI's Behavioral-" They all heard JJ's voicemail message.
"What was that? What happened?" Morgan asked as it cut off with a beep.
"It went dead mid-message," Garcia responded gravely.
"Try her again!" Alianna stated, anxiety appearing in her voice.
"She's probably back at-" Prentiss's phone cut off and so did she. Alianna glanced worriedly at her, eyes widened with unhidden fear.
"What happened?" Alianna asked, eyes back on the road.
"I don't know. I don't know," Prentiss repeated herself, trying to call Garcia back.
"We never got an answer on Hotch..." Alianna commented worriedly, biting the inside of her cheek anxiously.
"I'm sure he's okay, Alianna," Prentiss told her, sounding as if she was trying to convince both of them of that fact. Alianna drove in silence until they arrived at the post. There she paced anxiously waiting for answers on any of the team. That's when she heard about Hotch and she could swear her heart stopped for a minute. She couldn't get her thoughts to work. After a bit, Reid, JJ, and Rossi all arrived and Alianna hugged them all except Reid, not wanting to push his boundaries.
"Morgan's safe," Prentiss informed the group, causing Alianna to release a breath she didn't remember holding.
"Good, thank god," Rossi commented, causing Alianna to glance at him in agreement.
"This is the unsub Morgan chased into the subway," Reid stated, showing them a picture and then a different one, "This is the one Prentiss shot. Garcia's running them through vicap."
"These are smart, well-educated kids," Rossi claimed, "Hand-picked and trained to be martyrs. They're not gonna be in any government file and they won't have rap sheets."
"Hotch and Kate are at St. Barclays Hospital," JJ informed the team as she walked in.
"Are they okay?" Alianna asked quickly, her anxiety still present. On top of that, she felt guilty about the cold shoulder she had been giving Hotch.
