[Three hours later....]

[Location: Deva's Cafe]

I hummed lightly as I groomed Gen. Gen has actually grown much larger than I realize, he is about the height of a eight year old human child but he is light as a medium book. I felt Gen purr as I got some out of place branches, leaves, and cleaned his overall being. I ended up getting him a bigger pot that allowed me to carry him easily. I can leave him at home, were he would be safer, but he doesn't care and uses some magic to do a classic 'shortcut' to me.

He doesn't like to be left alone for too long and rather stick to me than anything. To which I find cute as he practically cuddles me with his branches and gives me his fruit for some reason. I plan to make a tart with them but it will be awhile as I want to combine both taste into one appetizing treat~!

"Papa~!!!"

I looked up from grooming Gen as I felt Gen become confused from the voice that I knew all too well. I let out this beaming smile as I quickly got from the counter and crouched slightly as I felt someone practically slam themselves into my torso. I let out a slight 'oof' as I felt my breathe being pushed out of me. I looked down to see my very goddaughter looking back up me with mischief and happiness.

I got a good look at her as she got out of my hug and started to dust herself of from dirt that she accidentally got on herself.

She was a skeleton monster like myself but she had ghost-like hair that was black in color with sparkles of green, silver, purple, and some streaks of dark blue. The hair was pulled in a low ponytail with some of it covering her right eye socket but not obscuring it. Her left eye socket having a Deep Purple eye-light while she had no eye light in her right eye socket, signifying that she was a neutral and not in-lined with either the Moon or Sun Empire.

She wore a cute bunny hoodie that also had a little cotton tail and ears on the hood part, it was a light pink in color with splashes of the color of cream. She wore a black knee-length skirt with gray leggings underneath it and flat baby blue shoes that looked loved. On her back rested a cute backpack that had splashes of paint, doodles, and some stitches. It also looked well loved.

She was what many called cute and damn well took advantage of it too not get caught from her chaos inducing actions.

Skeleton monsters are called by a font most of the time, the color of their magic, or an action that sticks with them. Her name is Bardo, to which from what her parents told me, means the existence between Life and Death. When Bardo was younger she was really sick, and I mean very sick. Her magic was aiming to kill her since she had too much at her age and she was born prematurely. Many speculated that she would not make it too see her first birthday.

I was thirteen at the time and I heard of her, so I went up to her parents and basically helped them with her. This Multiverse had magic, yes, but it was still behind in medicine. So I got the bright idea to absorb some of her magic, to help relieve her of pain and misery and it actually worked as my magic helped me absorbed her magic and safely direct it into the very Multiverse. Of course I never told anyone of this as I had no clue if it could be replicated. Sure, I could help others make it but I didn't care for the glory that came with it. I cared more for Bardo than some silly glory.

So I did this method everyday until she started to get better. She gained this healthy hue to her while also finally managed to get some semblance of control over her magic. So she got better and was finally able to leave her home without having an attack from her magic. I became her godparent since her parents found out of what I did to save her and practically made me her godparent since I wouldn't accept anything since it was from the goodness of my SOUL.
