nini's pov

as soon as we hit the ice i'm reminded of just how easy this is for me. thank goodness. i have ice skates since kourtney dragged me to with her while her cousins were in town like a year or two ago. ricky was a different story though. i got onto the ice first turning to him after not feeling him move along with me given that our hands are still connected. "you coming?" i ask innocently. "i just need a second," he says looking at the people who are just gliding by us. i pull my hand from his, "woah what are you doing," he asks seriously. "hold on," i chuckle to myself even though i knew he'd hear it. i hold my hands out palms up for him to place his in mine, which he does. "look baby. i trust you. i really do. but if i go down you'll go down with me," he says with a strained voice putting his hands in mine anyway. "i'm aware. it actually doesn't hurt to fall. trust me. kourt has dragged me down more than once. plus the idea is not to fall. i'm just here to help you balance and get used to it." that seems to loosen him up a bit because he ends up stepping out onto the ice with my physical support. "see? all good," i say looking at him as i slowly skate backwards him moving with me. his eyes are glued to our feet, but he looks up for the split second it takes to make eye contact with a person before his eyes dart back down to our feet. "just start to shift your weight to go faster with each push off of your feet," i suggest. we're about halfway around the ginormous rink. he actually does it and we start to move pretty smoothly. i let go of one of his hands keeping the other connected so we can skate side by side making him wobble slightly, but he recovers. "wow you sure seem to have a lot of confidence in my ability right now," he jokes. "you're doing fine," i say back in the same way. "until we fall," he points out. "we're only gonna fall if you keep saying that ricky." i feel like i spoke too soon because a very skilled skater, some man that was skating very fast, flies right in front of us causing ricky to flip out from the surprise body that flew right past us. to put it simply, ricky kept his promise in saying that i'd be going down with him if he falls. ricky pulls me straight down to the ice with him. the next hour goes by and we hand in our skates having had a time filled with laughter that we needed together. we stay in the city deciding to have our lunch date at a cafe that i pointed out as we drove by it on our way to the rink. it looked really cute and cozy, so it made for an easy choice. ricky holds the door open as we enter. he comes in after me immediately slipping his hand into mine leading us to a booth to be more secluded. he starts to sit down into the booth and i make an effort to sit into the opposite side, but he pulls on my hand causing my arm to stretch out. "what?" i ask and it comes out like a low voice you would use when you're in trouble. "sit with me," he states continuing to slowly pull my arm prompting my body to sit down next to him. "we're in a booth. this looks weird," i say looking at an older couple across the floor in a similar booth sitting across from one another. "i wanna sit next to you," he says and i turn my head to look back to him away from the other cafe customers to see him giving me a pouted lip. "don't make that face," i say in a quiet giggly fit putting my hands over his face. he struggles using his own hands to pull my hands down from his face by my wrists laughing himself while still trying to maintain his pathetic sad look. "stop," i say in a whisper after leaning in closer to his face forcing my hands to cover his. i feel him stick his tongue out to lick my hand. "ricky!" i whisper exclaim wiping my hand on his jacket against his shoulder. he didn't have to go far to lean in bumping our heads together laughing. in the midst of this, ricky straightens back up looking past me dying down his laughter, i look over my shoulder to see the waiter standing there. a boy our age with a nice smile on his face as he talks to us, "hey, what can i get you guys?" i smile politely at him, "can we do two hot chocolates please?" i request because the drink matches the whole ice skating scene and i'm still a bit cold. i look to ricky, "what are you eating?" i ask him not know what i want and having not looked at the menu in front of us beforehand having been distracted. ricky glances to the menu in front of him shortly, "um, how about two bowls of mac n cheese?" he says to both me and the waiter looking to me for confirmation. "sounds good," i tell ricky looking up to the waiter seeing him write that down. "alright. i've got two hot chocolates and two mac and cheeses," he confirms closing his notepad quickly adding on, "i'm guessing you two just came from the rink down the street," he makes conversation. "yeah," ricky says while i smile and nod in agreement. "i'll go get your hot chocolates then," he says smiling directly at me longer than what felt normal despite it being kind. my eyes follow him blowing it off because it wasn't anything. i look back to ricky seeing that he's looking off in what seemed like the same direction, but looks to meet my eyes when he sees me from his side vision. "mac n cheese and hot chocolate is a pretty weird combination," i say slightly scrunching my nose with a short laugh following. "yeah it is, but i still want both," he replies with the same facial expression as me. it just makes me laugh, "yeah me too," i honestly agree making him smile. "we're pretty weird huh?" he says pushing the menu to the other side of the table for when our food comes. "yeah, sometimes," i answer with a tilt of my head smiling. just in time the boy returns to us with a hot chocolate in each hand. he sets ricky's in front of him leaning across the table a bit too much and puts mine in front of me. i see the corner of something sticking out of the cardboard heated holder around the cup eyeballing it then looking up at the waiter boy to see him already looking at me. ricky places his hand onto my thigh, "thanks," to fill the weirdness of this guy still standing here. "so what school do you guys go to?" i answer when ricky doesn't so this doesn't get awkward, "east high. we're just outside the city." he nods with a very in tune facial expression crossing his arms making it obvious that he's gonna stand here for longer getting himself comfortable. "oh cool. yeah i've been to a football game there before. i'm over at north high," he point with his thumb over his shoulder. i nod and look to ricky with a 'um is this weird to you too?' kind of face. ricky reads me easily already looking like he's thinking the same thing talking through our eyes. ricky removed the hand that was on top of my right thigh closest to him. he slides his hand between my waist and the back of the booth to rest it on basically my butt where he then pulls me tighter to his side. i think his goal was to hold the side of my leg visible to the dude (which it was visible), but doesn't wrap his arm doesn't move as far as it can around me. his hand is spread open on the side of my butt sort of my leg. "okay well thanks," he says not really having another thing to say to shoo him away nicely. i watch the guy look at ricky and turn around without a word. ricky maintains our position using his opposite hand to take a sip of his drink. i fall into my own curiosity pulling the skinny slip of paper from my hot chocolate cup sleeve. it's a phone number with a winky smiley face. i turn it over in my hands looking to see if there was anything on the back just observing it. that guy actually left me his number thinking he was doing something there when he can clearly see me with a guy right now. that i would assume is pretty obvious to be my boyfriend or at the least two people on a date. it kind of made me mad because it grossed me out and was plain rude to ricky. i didn't notice ricky leaned back against the booth watching me go through my thoughts and twiddling the paper around. i place it down on the table looking over my shoulder to him with a face of worry wondering if he'll see this as my fault. i feel guilty for some reason. "um," i say with my voice dry as i meet his eyes holding the paper between my fingers like i don't know what to do with it. his mouth is sealed shut just looking at me with a sad face of defeat. at least that's what it was until i see a figure walking towards us. i swiftly move my hand underneath the table still holding the paper. "i forgot to get you guys napkins," he says like it's a hilarious joke he expects us to react to taking his eyes proudly all over me. i don't bother to smile at the guy this time. i don't look at either boys feeling like ricky is upset with me (even though he's not of course, i just feel bad for this in general. and this is just plain awkward to happen with my literal boyfriend sitting right next to me). i feel ricky grasp my hips pushing on me to exit the booth, "we'll be right back. i must've forgotten my wallet in the car. kinda need it," ricky says to the boy matter of factly dismissing him. we're both now standing and he's hurriedly walking me out of the cafe. ricky looks back at him seeing as he hasn't moved away from our table yet, "we might be a bit. we're parked all the way around the block." that catches my attention picking up on his lie seeing as we're parked just outside, but i don't question him right now. i'm still holding the paper just because i forgot it was even in my hands from ricky's change in behavior and rushed actions. as soon as we step outside into the cold air, he pulls the paper from my hands dropping it into the trash can on the sidewalk, "ricky, i don't want it. i'm sorry. i didn't mean to carry it with me. that guy...," i drift off from him kissing my temple wordlessly. the weight of worry leaves my shoulder as i exhale a breath while ricky does this. he still hasn't said anything though as he briskly walks us down the side walk. he unlocks my car a few feet away already having my keys from offering to hold then in his jacket. he doesn't open the passenger seat door like he should, but instead opens the back one guiding me in. i hold the wrist to his hand that's gently pushing me in with hesitation. "ricky? what are you doing?" "baby please get in," he says pushing me more. the desperation in his voice makes up my mind about getting in despite my utter confusion. i don't hesitate to slide into the backseat. he follows me in closing the door behind him. he slams his lips against mine taking my breath away. i pull my head back gasping for air looking at him with my eyes speedily going between his eyes and lips before i reciprocate connecting us again. he groans into the kiss making me feel all kinds of things. oh my gosh. "ricky," i breathily say against his mouth and he presses forward harshly kissing my lips. he picks me up tightly to flip me onto my back in a rush. he did this so flawlessly despite the difficulty of it in my small car. his tongue shoots into my mouth assertively and i feel like complete jelly beneath him having no control over him or this. i don't know where this is coming from and this is the furthest out of my comfort zone i've been with him. with him hovering over me, i don't have a choice but to open my legs for his body to go between due to the tight space. my hands have a mind of their own searching for skin contact as i scramble to feel for the bottom of his shirt. i succeed in doing so sliding my hands up his bare back causing his shirt to ride up a lot. he breathes out against me during the kiss at the same time i do this. i guess he likes it as much as i do. he parts from me not wasting a second to attach to my neck. i sigh in content sliding my hands around his sides to rake my nails lightly up his abs to rest my palms on his chest. he elicits a loud moan making me let out a whimper of my own from the sound that came out of him along with feeling him like that. my heart swells with affection for this boy from the small part of me that is still able to functionally think about how he's consciously making an effort not to press our bodies together there. he bites onto a piece of skin making me yelp, soon feeling his tongue coax it to relieve the pain to feel pleasure there. i dread this, but i rake my fingers all the way down his torso again until i feel myself reach his waistline. i pull my hands away to pull his shirt back down, but he continues on. "baby, we gotta...go back... in," i find my hand in his hair despite my request to finish up. i'm starting to worry about how long it's been. he hums acknowledging me, but doesn't make an effort to stop. i start to fall into it again being so intoxicated by this boy sighing at his movements. "baby, we've really... gotta go now." he comes face to face with me again going straight for my mouth giving a long, final kiss. we lay catching our breath for a minute until he sits up guiding me with him. he's about to pull open the door handle, "don't you need your wallet still?" he shakes his head turning to me pressing his lips into mine once again for a harsh peck. "wow ricky," i say both in awe and in annoyance. the words coming out very blunt. he just smiles proudly standing outside of the car as i scooch out.
