You had been sitting down in Professor McGonagall's office with, much to your dismay, George Weasley. If there was a negative to being the Quidditch Captain in your seventh year for Slytherin it was George Weasley. He was rude, arrogant, and not even funny. Not in the slightest. You would have held in your dismay - been professional if you will - but he made that impossible. He had said just as many unflattering things to say about you, it seemed, as he was always more than willing to let you know exactly what he thought of you.
"Your houses have had a long and bitter history," McGonagall said briskly and needlessly adjusted her glasses. "And Quidditch has not helped this." Glancing at you in particular she added, "Especially in recent years regarding your seekers."
You glanced to the side, eyeing the wall of books, and laughed softly and shook your head. Looking back at her you said, "It's not my fault that the seekers don't get along." You said in a somewhat snide voice, not liking the fact that you were getting the heat.
George scoffed nastily. "It's not Harry's fault."
"Please," You scoffed just as he had. "Harry torments him just the same - give it up Weasley."
"Yeah, because Harry goes around calling Malfoy's friend's you-know-what's." He scoffed at you.
"I don't know what you mean." You lied as a smirk quirked at the corners of your lips. "What does he call them?" You knew exactly what your seeker called people but was dead set on ribbing George if McGonagall was going to waste your time.
"You're just as bad as him," He seethed, growing angrier by the minute. "All you bloody snakes-"
"I'm sorry," You cut him off, not feeling sorry at all, and looked at Professor McGonagall. "Why is he even here? He's not the captain."
"Finally notice, did you?" He quipped back in a snarky tone.
"That's enough," McGonagall said, tired of the back and forth which was at some point funny but by now was giving her the beginning of a terrible headache. "There is a reason Mr. Weasley is here and not Miss Johnson." She said sternly.
"And?" You questioned impatiently, very much wanting to leave and go back to the Common Room.
She scrutinized both of your facial expressions before she said at once "For the sake of house unity you and Mr. Weasley will go on a fake date at the Three Broomsticks."
"No!" You and George Weasley had shouted out in protest at the same time, equally affronted at the idea
"Professor," George tried to reason. "This won't work. Don't make me do this." He vaguely gestured to you still sitting.
You gritted your teeth. "Like I want to do this!" You interrupted his 'pity me' tirade. "Professor, I can't do this - I'll be the laughing stock of my team. I'm the captain - they'll never respect me after this and then we'll lose the season-"
"That was already going to happen." George Weasley interrupted a smirk on his face despite the misery of this situation.
"Sod off," You grunted. "I refuse, Professor. Professor Snape would never even allow this." You insisted.
