The planet we call Earth is a massive place. The planet's dominant species, humans, have inhabited it for many centuries, learning about their environment by exploring every little corner and crevice.
However, this doesn't mean they do know every little corner and crevice.
The Earth is made up of so much ocean that some parts of the world are nearly impossible for humans to explore. There are still lands untouched and species undiscovered.
One of them is a series of islands called Lupinia.
Humans have not discovered Lupinia because it is located nearly in the center of the Pacific Ocean, where it'd be hard to get to without facing harsh sea storms. To add onto that, the air surrounding Lupinia is covered in thick fog and mist. It'd be impossible to venture this way without getting lost.
For that reason, humans do not inhabit the islands, but instead their dominant species is a member of the canine family that is only found on these islands and therefore remains undiscovered by humans.
They are called Lupinian Wolves.
Like domestic dogs, Lupinian wolves are a canine that varies greatly in appearance, having unusual characteristics unlike other canines. Their fur lengths can range from very thin to very thick and fluffy.
Often times, these wolves inhabit characteristics similar to that of other earth animals. Some have feathered or batlike wings, giving them the ability to fly. others have fish-like tails, fins, and gills, making them capable of swimming very well and breathing underwater. They can also be found with many types of horns and antlers. Combinations of characteristics like these can even make wolves resemble that of creatures that were thought to exist only in myths, such as dragons or unicorns.
Lupinian wolves have been around a long time, so some can even resemble prehistoric creatures that are long gone. A common example are wolves with long tails and spines with feathers, as well as an extra claw on their back paws, giving them a resemblance to raptors.
Some characteristics of wolves are found more commonly in some areas more than others, with the Sundown Islands having the most variety.
Wolf tribe territories, as well as varieties, are discussed with the map.
