Deep within the middle of the ocean lies a series of islands called Lupinia, which have not been discovered by humans due to being surrounded by mist and harsh weather. The dominant species of these islands are an undiscovered species of canine call...
Lily had been sheltering with fellow wolves for quite a long time. Every day was the same. Lily would spend a majority of her time hanging out with the other wolves in the area in the middle of the island or exploring the island. Sometimes she would shop for food at the stands. She never took the time to realize how advanced the Summer Tribe was with food; they had ordinary things that she was used to such as steak and ham and other meats, as well as things like eggs and cheese and fruits that she had never seen at the other places where she had been. The Summer Tribe was very advanced, she knew. One day she had suddenly remembered, she didn't even get to explore Fire Territory all that much. She guessed she'd better head over there now. She knew Summer Tribe wolves were masters of escaping and traveling. She slowly walked towards the waves. She knew her tribe could swim for miles without dying, as she'd seen it before and was able to do it herself. And she'd swam longer distances anyway. She swam for quite a long while. She wasn't too sure how long she'd been swimming, and her muscles ached. But eventually she could see a strip of land. Once she reached it, she stepped onto the rocky shore and slowly climbed up the hill. It was rocky and hard on her paws, but when she reached the top, she saw that she did indeed reach Fire Territory. She could see mother wolves taking their pups for a swim at the beach, and she could also hear faint rap music. Not too far away, smoke rose from the calm and silent volcano. She started walking down the hill. But she suddenly slipped on something and found herself in darkness. Not total darkness, she realized, as her eyes adjusted. Glancing up, she could see a hole where daylight came through. She had fell through a small in the earth. She looked down. A worn-away note was laying underneath her paws. She stepped off of it. There were words scribbled on the piece of paper. Taking a closer look, she could read what it said:
Day 32
It was just ruins...
Andrew was wrong. His "safe haven" is more or less rubble. Andrew wants to take the group further up north, but I have the feeling if I stick with these people I won't be alive much longer. I'm parting ways with them for my own good.
Lily glanced up from the note. What? She scrabbled up in an attempt to exit the hole. She kept on slipping, but eventually she was able to get out. She walked down the rocky hill towards the beach. Once her paws touched the sand she went from a walk to a trot. She examined the beach. A food stand sat in the sand, but nobody sat by it. She could also see adult wolves playing with pups in the water. Then something caught her eye. Dug into the rocks was a small hole, like a cave. Lily crouched and ducked inside. Inside laid another note, along with a skeleton, or what was left of one. The note read:
Day 62
Eyes...Glowing, covered in darkness, they've found me.
She glanced at the skeleton. It was just a rib cage and arms. No other bones, Lily guessed the rest of the bones were either found by wolves or other animals or wore away with time. It was obvious that this was the remains of what was writing those notes. But she couldn't tell what it once was...it may have been a wolf, but the way it laid didn't look very wolf-like. Lily crawled out of the tunnel. If she were able to find two notes, then surely there must be more... She just had to keep looking.
She ran back to the rocky area at the edge of the mountain, where she had found the first note. When she reached the top, she ran along the rocks, searching and sniffing every area for a hole. She had been searching for quite a long time. She had walked along some hills covered in snow but kept walking. She knew she was in the snow biome. She had eventually found herself walking on rocky hills again, and the trees in the forest were dark green, or redwood, she realized. This was a redwood biome. Then something caught her eye. A small tunnel dug into the earth. Curiously, she stepped inside. The inside of the cavern was rocky, and a note lay on the ground. Lily read it:
Day 41
Screams...
Lots of them in the distance, followed by howling. I hear them prowling. Like a breeze in the night, gently pushing aside the brush weaving through the forest. My father taught me how to hunt, covering my tracks and hiding my scent takes time, but in the land of wolves it's a necessity.
Lily was curious. She knew she had to find more. She walked down the rest of the rocks, but then she was able to distantly smell the beach. Knowing she probably went in a circle, she turned around and went the other way. She kept moving until she was back in the snow biome. The sun was setting down the horizon by the time she found a tunnel dug into the mountain. She went inside, but instead of finding a note, she found something more unusual.

When her eyes adjusted, she could see that the cave was round, and had walls of ice and snow. In the center of the cave was a fire pit- no- what USED to be a fire pit. It was obviously unlit, and messed up as if it were trampled. Surrounding the firepit were more skeletons. Were these once wolves? Or were they something different? Lily couldn't tell because these skeletons were very decayed. So, I haven't found any other secrets in this place...Lily thought. But who's "they?" What if it's the sick, feral Wild tribe wolves? What if they...attacked...long ago? Lily stepped out of the cave. She made her way along the snowy rocks again, until she was seeing less and less snow, and eventually it was just bare rock. She was back in the deciduous forest biome, and out of the corner of her eye she spotted another tunnel. She carefully walked into it. The inside of this cave was mossier, with the ground being a dark colored stone. Some parts of the ground had small orange cracks, like that of a volcano. A note lay on the ground. This one was probably the longest:
Day 15
Sarah didn't make it...
It was the virus of course, W2L3. Seems no one is safe, not even out here. Andrew says the town of Kichuat is just north of here. He says they have power, water, and food, a slice of our old lives before the virus. It feels too good to be true and Andrew is not the kind of guy you should blindly trust and follow. I'm only staying with this group because there's nowhere else left to go. Writing helps me keep sanity intact, god willing there will be some light at the end of this tunnel, just need to keep heading north.
Maybe it was just because Lily didn't know Fire Territory, but she'd never heard of a place called Kichuat. But the real point was that the notes were all starting to make sense. Trying to remember each one, she started to try and put them all in order. 15, 62, 32, 41... First 15, then 32, then 41, then 62... Was it a virus that made the Wild Tribe wolves go insane...? Did they invade this place...? Is that what's going on? Lily had enough exploring for tonight. She decided to head back to Summer Territory.
