I wake up screaming.

My body is hot and sweaty and I can barely breathe. My body fights for air, and my hands hit my head. I cover my eyes and let the tears fall. I crunch up my body into the tiniest of balls and rock backwards and forwards. I shake and squirm and cry.

Beside me, a shape moves. The covers of the bed I am lying on move and panic. My heart rate increases, my mind races and I start to pant. Tears and sweat block all vision and I am blinded by fear. It is only when the comforting hands I am so familiar with, wrap around my body and hold me tight, that I know I am safe now. A gentle shh-ing noise sounds and my head collapses on a hard, muscled chest.

The noises continue and my crying ceases. I stop shaking and instead embrace the warm arms and body into a hug.

We sit there for a while, my saviour whispering words of comfort into my ear whilst I regain sanity and peace.

My mouth slips open and struggles to speak again but with all my strength I manage,

"Help me."
