Tea?

After the hugging session, I reached over and looked at my alarm clock: 03:37AM. Is that too early for a tea?

My mind races as I get up and reach for my dressing gown. My lover sits up in bed and groans. "You need to get out of this habit. Tea isn't the answer to everything." I giggle as I leave the room and I rest my hands on the door handle before closing it. I turn back to him, "I'm British, what do you expect?"

The kettle boils and I pour the hot liquid into the teapot. As my hands reach for the woolen tea-cosy, a hand reaches around my waist and a warm head rests on my neck. A pair of soft lips hits my bare skin and smile sorrowfully. "I told you," a deep voice says, "you should tell me about your nightmares." His grip tightens and I feel a sympathetic smile grow. A lump grows at the back of my throat and a single tear stings my eye and cheek.  "I can't," I whisper. "It's just wrong."

The man spins me around on the balls of my feet and smiles at me. "Okay." He says. He lets go of my waist and tiptoes over to the stereo. His fingers hit the play button and my favourite song, Lana Del Ray 'Young and Beautiful', starts playing through the speakers. It's soft and mellow sound makes me smile and as he holds out his hands, I can't help but hold them.

"Tom," I laugh gently, "we can't just-"

"Ignore all the problems in life? Why not?" He smiles and pulls me closer. His nose burrows it's way into my hair and nearly touches my ear. His voice is soft and smooth. "You know my motto in life?" He smiles. "Dance more."

The music gets louder and begins to pick up speed. He holds me tight and sways me, his arms and hips moving in time to the music. Our house is alive and happy once more and we dance on the kitchen tiles.

His sway in stops and his eyes, transfixed on me, begin to close in slow motion. His lips move towards mine and slowly but so romantically, our lips meet. They move in sync so softly and we stay there in our little bubble of joy.

He pulls back first and slowly kisses my neck. I smile and lean the opposite way. His mouth reaches my ear and he whispers

"I will always love you."
