~Julia Carter~
Where am I?
I try to sit up and look around but I feel a sharp pain I'm my side and lay back down. I'm left staring at a white ceiling.
"She's awake." I hear a female voice state.
"Julia how do you feel?" The female voice asks.
"Where am I?" I ask.
"St. David's Medical Center." She replies.
"Where's Tommy?" I ask worriedly.
"Tommy is in jail. A guy named Richard Clarke brought you in."
Tommy is in jail? I need to talk to Richard.
"Where is Richard?
"The waiting room. Would you like me to get him for you?"
"Yes, please."
She hurried out the door and down the hallway.
A few minutes later I heard footsteps come up beside my bed.
"Hello Julia." I heard Richard say quietly.
I turned my head so I could look at him.
"Richard how did I get here?" I asked him, truly puzzled.
"Okay, here is what happened, I felt bad bad for leaving you in The Coffee Shop so I went back inside and you weren't there so I turned around to go home. But when I went to leave I saw you and him drive off and I followed you. When I got to your house I heard screaming so I ran up to see what it was. When I got to where you were I saw Tommy standing over your unconscious body.....so....I...uh...." I he stopped talking suddenly.
"Richard, what did you do?" I said trying not to panic.
"I knocked him out and brought you to the hospital." He rushed out.
I was speechless.
"Why?" He asked.
"Why what?"
"Why did you let him beat you?" He asked slightly concerned but mostly angry.
Because I thought it would make him love me again.
"It's none of your business." I spat out, tearing up.
"It is now." He said still angry.
"I never asked for you to help me!" I shouted halfway crying.
"Listen Julia, I know I probably acted irrationally but if I didn't do it you would have died! I don't know you that well but, I don't think you're worth getting beaten. Nobody deserves to get beaten Julia."
I didn't really think about it like that. Yes I could have died.
I don't want to die.
I don't want to live a life in fear either.
"You should have let me die." I whispered.
"No. Then it would have been my fault." He stated.
"Why?"
"I'm the one who wanted you to clean my house."
"I'll still clean it." I told him.
"No."
"I need the money and I like cleaning. But there is one issue..."
"No."
"Richard." I looked at him.
"Ugh what?" He stated finally giving up on me not cleaning his house.
"I need a new place to stay."
"I already have an apartment for you a few blocks away from my house."
Well then...
"..." I was speechless.
"You could say thanks."
"Thank you kind sir." I said all lady like. He laughed for about a second.
"Seems you have some sort of sense of humor." He said charmingly. When I turned my head to look at him he was staring at a long jagged scar across my arm.
"He did it to me." He nodded his head, averting my gaze.
"When do I get to leave?" I asked curiously.
"Two days until they release you."

"Goodbye Julia!" The nurse that wheeled me out here shouted as Richard's car drove away.
I broke up with Tommy and told Richard not to press any charges against him. I don't want to deal with any drama.
"We're here!" Richard shouted excitedly.
"Richard this is not an apartment this is like a house!" I exclaimed in disbelief.
"I paid for everything so there is nothing you have to worry about." He said nonchalantly. He told me yesterday that he got all my clothes and other things from Tommy's house so I wouldn't have to worry about anything.
When we got inside I immediately ran to the bedroom to see if he had gotten my jewelry box to check for my grandma's locket.
It's the only piece of her I have left. She was very special to me. Before she died she asked me to take good care of it for her.
It's not here.
Which means I have to go back to Tommy's house.
**better?**
