Y/n POV:
Harrison: So what do you think they want from us?
He asked me from his bathroom whilst I sat waiting on his bed.
Y/n: What do you mean?
I answered, hearing hims shuffling about, rushing to get ready. He walked out of the bathroom, looking at me as he buttoned up his shirt.
Harrison: You don't find it strange? I mean, no offence but your ex boyfriend's new girlfriend invites you for pizza and drinks and you don't find it suspicious?
Y/n: Well, you know her better than I do. Is she plotting to poison my drink or something?
Harrison chuckled and shrugged his shoulders.
Harrison: She's cool.
He told me, and I nodded in agreement.
Y/n: She seems cool...She makes him happy huh?
I asked, looking down so I wouldn't have to bare the weight of the ocean flooding through his eyes.
Harrison: Yeah, happiest he's been in a long time.
Harrison kept talking the entire walk there, but I can't say I was paying much attention. It didn't take long for us to arrive to a cosy house in a quiet enough street, the front garden filled with several kinds of roses alone. Harrison knocked on the door and we waited before it flung open and Hazel with her welcoming eyes greeted us.
Hazel: Hi!
She said, ushering us in.
Y/n: Hi.
Tom: Hey.
He spoke, approaching from the kitchen.
Hazel: Make yourselves comfortable.
She told us as she went back to the kitchen with Tom following after.
Harry: Y/n?
Y/n: Oh my god, Harry!
I said, making my way to him and in one swift movement was engulfed by his long arms. I pulled away and admired the young man standing in front of me, remembering him only as a little boy.
Y/n: Look at you.
Harry: Not looking too bad yourself.
Y/n: Where's your lookalike?
Harry: Visiting his girlfriend. But don't worry, you got the better twin.
He joked, giving me a wink and sat down on the sofa. The night actually went surprisingly smoothly. We ate pizza, had some beers and talked about the old times. I tried to talk to Hazel as much as possible, I don't know if it was to prove something to her, or Tom, or me but I mainly didn't want her to feel left out. Although Tom was definitely the quietest out of us all. A couple of hours had gone and we were all quite tipsy from the alcohol.
Hazel: So y/n, what's your favourite part about being back?
She asked me, leaning back on Tom who took another swig of his beer.
Y/n: I guess, the people.
Harrison smiled and put his arm around me.
Harrison: Well the people certainly missed you too.
Tom: You could have visited if you missed the people that much.
He mumbled, Hazel handing him a stern look as his intense gaze on Harrison and I made me break away from his hold.
Y/n: I wanted to-
Tom: Clearly not enough.
Hazel: Okay, I think that's enough.
Tom: No, you know what since you're here and we have no idea if we'll see you again, seeing that you like to disappear for a couple of years, do you even care?
Y/n: Tom-
Tom: You left. How are we supposed to forget that? Then you come back and apologies and mess with us-
Harry: Tom maybe you shouldn't-
Tom: Funny how you're not talking huh?
He spat, pointing at Harrison who did nothing but look away from his best friend.
Y/n: I'm not messing with you.
Tom: Oh yeah, then why are you-
But he bit his tongue before he could carry on speaking. He glanced at Harrison, his brown eyes dark and lost, then down at Hazel.
Hazel: Maybe you should go in the garden and cool off.
She demanded rather than asked, and he obeyed, huffing as he stumbled out of the living room.
Hazel: Gosh, I am so sorry.
Y/n: It's okay. Do you want me to talk to him?
Hazel: Yeah, that would be great. If I go out there all we'll do is argue.
I nodded and squeezed her hand for assurance, then navigated my way into the garden. He stood there, staring up at the stars in the sky as if he was counting every single one.
Y/n: That wasn't fair.
I spoke, and he slowly lowered is head.
Tom: You deserved it.
Y/n: If you want to tell me something Tom, then tell me.
I told him, and he turned around to face me.
Tom: Why did yo have to be at that wedding? Everything was simple before the wedding.
He said, his voice weak and small. He leant back against a lounger, shaking his head.
Tom: I have a job that I love, a best friend that's always there for me, a girlfriend who's amazing...and you come and you confuse everything.
He continued, a waver in his voice that tells me he wants to stop, but he fought to speak every word and I listened hanging onto each one.
Tom: And I want you to.
I looked up at him, but he wouldn't meet my eyes. I started walking towards him, and still he shook his head as if in denial.
Tom: You have no idea what you've been doing to me for the past five years and now you're here I don't know what to think. I'm angry and hurt and confused and happy. Its been like...
Y/n: Like everyone you're with just isn't the same.
I finished for him, his eyes finally meeting mine, drawing me closer to him.
Y/n: Like, every time you touch, it's not their skin you feel.
His hands reached out and travelled from my legs to my waist, running up my back.
Y/n: And every time they say your name, it's not their voice you hear.
My hands found their way up his chest, resting at the back of his neck.
Y/n: And every time you kiss...it's not their lips you taste.
Our noses brushed, and I fell apart as his teasing hands encouraged us on.
Tom: Y/n please...
He moaned before leaning in, his lips almost touching mine. Almost. But the garden door rattled and the spell had been broken. I quickly shuffled away, the air cold around me without his warmth against me.
Hazel: Is everything okay out here?
Y/n: Yeah...yeah we're good.
Hazel: Okay good. I'm glad.
She said, smiling at me and kissing his cheek.
Y/n: Look I should get going. Thank you for tonight Hazel.
Hazel: Oh of course, maybe we can do it again soon?
Y/n: Yeah, that would be nice. Goodnight.
I said, rushing home, wanting to forget tonight, wanting it to all be a dream.
