"El, I have to go in and film tomorrow for the last episode before hiatus." Patrick said sadly as they were sitting on the couch that night. "That's okay." Ellen said. "Do you wsnt to come with me? You can get out of the house, and when I'm done we can eat soemtning maybe." Patrick suggested. "Sure." Ellen said with a smile. She loved Patrick's protectiveness over her, even if he wouldn't admit it.

"What time do we have to leave tomorrow?" Ellen asked. "Shonda said to be in by 8, so probably get up at 7 and leave by 7:30." Patrick said. Ellen nodded and yawned. "Want to go to sleep?" Patrick asked. Ellen nodded again and stood up using Patrick's hand.

He handed her the crutches and Ellen slowly made her way to the stairs. He came behind her and lifted her up in his arms and went upstairs. Ellen's head rested against his chest and her eyes fluttered shut. He smiled and placed her in her bed. "Stay." Ellen said quietly. Patrick hesitated for a minute before laying in bed beside her. Patrick had stayed over literallt every night with her since the accident, which was about 2 weeks ago. He was nervous to leave her on her own, even if she was going to be okay.

Ellen turned around to face him and rested her head in the crook of his neck. She draped an arm over his abdomen and moved as close as possible to him. "You're warm." She murmered. Patrick chuckled and put his arm around her back and held her close. "Thank you." She said. "For what?" Patrick asked. "Staying with me this whole time. You didn't have to do that. I really appreciate it." Ellen said softly. "Anytime el." Patrick said as he kissed her head. Ellen sighed in contentment and shut her eyes. Patrick knew she was asleep when her breathing leveled out, and he shut his eyes too.

The next thing they knew it, the alarm was ringing loudly. "Ughhh." Ellen grumbled. "You're not a morning person, huh?" Patrick said with an amused face. "Shut up." Ellen mumbled into his chest. "You don't have to come if you don't want to." Patrick said hesitantly, although he really preferred it if she did. That way someone could keep an eye on her. "No, I'll go." She said as she stayed still. "That means we have to get up." Patrick whispered. Ellen groaned again but moved to get out of the bed.

They both got ready for the day and made their way to the kitchen. Patrick lifted Ellen into his arms and walked down the steps. "Stupid cast." Ellen complained. "You get them off next week, don't you?" Patrick asked. "Yeah, but then I have to do PT." Ellen said with a groan. "You're healing." Patrick said as he enveloped her in a big, warm hug. Ellen rested her head on his chest and smiled.

They left the house and drove to set. Ellen was excited to leave the house. It's been a while since she has. Patrick got out of the car and went around to Ellen's side. He opened the car door for her and handed her crutches from the back. Ellen made her way to set, anxious to see everyone again. Patrick was close behind when she opened the door to set. "Ellen!" Shonda exclaimed. "Hi!" Ellen said happily as she crutched over to her. Shonda gave her a hug and smiled. "How are you? How do you feel?" She asked. "I'm good. Casts off next week hopefully." Ellen said. "That's good. I see Patrick hasn't left your side." Shonda said with a smirk. "No, he hasn't. I don't know why he won't, but I'm not mad about it." Ellen said as she blushed. Shonda laughed and let others say hi.

"Ellen!" Justin said. "Hey Justin!" Ellen said. She greeted everyone and hung around for the rest of the day, watching her friends and costars film from a chair next to Shonda.

After Patrick filmed his scenes for the day, he went to go find Ellen to bring her home, but was stopped by Justin. "Hey man. How's she really doing?" Justin asked. "Uh, she's doing good. She isn't a fan of the casts but other than that it's been good." Patrick answered. "Good. Thanks for helping her." Justin said. "No problem. I like being with her." Patrick confessed. Justin just chuckled and walked off.

Patrick found Ellen talking to Sandra and approached them. "Hey El. Ready to go home?" He asked as he wrapped an arm around her. "Yeah. Bye San." Ellen said as she started to walk away. "How was your day?" Patrick asked. "It was good. How about yours?" Ellen asked. "Good." Patrick replied as he helped Ellen into the car and got into the car himself.

After a long pause, Ellen spoke up. "Pat?" Ellen asked. "Yeah El?" Patrick asked. "Why are you staying with me? Not that I don't want you to, I do, but you haven't left since I left. And I appreciate it, but don't you want to have fun and do things? All I do right now is sit at home." Ellen rambled. Patrick smiled. "El, I like being with you. You make me happy. I don't want to leave you." He said as he blushed. Ellen smiled and looked at him across the consol. "Are you su-?" Ellen started before Patrick's lips on hers cut her off. Patrick cupped her face softly and deepened the kiss. Ellen was receptive, and did the same.

When the light turned green, Patrick pulled away and kept driving, leaving Ellen in shock.

Once they pulled up to Ellen's house and got into the house, Ellen kissed him again on the couch. Patrick smiled on her lips and kissed her back. "Wow." Ellen said as she pulled back. "Wow." Patrick repeated. Ellen leant into him as he put his arm around her and held her close. Ellen, who was already half asleep murmered something that sounded like 'love you.' Patrick heard it, but decided to stay quiet in case he heard wrong. He picked Ellen up once again and placed her in her bed, just as she did the night before. He climbed into bed beside her and held her close.
