Fifteen minutes later, Nicola climbed off her bar stool. Cat ignored her friend, and sipped her champagne, she'd turned her back to the stage, already bored with watching the gushing young women lavishing attention on the star of the show. Even Cat could see that the young man was special. Besides the fact that he was gorgeous and an amazing musician, Tom Bell oozed the 'X' factor.
Nicola motioned to the bar man and whispered something in his ear, holding out a $100 note with a coy smile. He smiled back and disappeared behind the bar.
Cat watched her friend with a smile. She had been in this situation countless times before. Accompanying Nicola to live shows and ending up catching a cab home, alone. She watched in admiration as Nic tapped her manicured nails on the bar impatiently. Nicola Starr knew exactly what she wanted, and she knew how to get it.
Moments later the barman returned carrying a brown paper bag and handed it to Nicola with a smile and a wink.
"C'mon let's go." Nicola said, pulling Cat off the bar stool.
"What, where? I thought you had a meeting?" Cat realized she'd skipped dinner when the full effect of the champagne hit her as she stood up.
"We, having a meeting. C'mon partner, we're late." Nicola announced, dragging Cat towards the pub lift by her coat sleeve.
"Oh no. You're on your own Nic..." Cat protested, turning towards the exit doors leading to the street. Nicola grabbed her friend's hand and pulled her back towards the pub lift.
No one says no to Nicola Starr! Cat thought, knowing it was futile to fight her.
Nic always got her way. Cat laughed at her best friend's face as she pretended to beg, and resigned herself to accompanying Nicola to Tom Bell's room.
Nic's beautiful face lit up triumphantly. Cat was tipsy enough to be curious about how Tom Bell would cope with the two women in his hotel room. She was determined to leave before any naughty business, but she was willing to play along and tease the young man as a payback for him singling her out after the broken glass incident.
She giggled while Nic pressed the UP button on the dirty old elevator with a screwed up nose. The Grand Hotel was definitely a few stars short of what Nicola Starr was used to.
"Oh God... you're terrible Nicola Starr..." Cat said, laughing as Nic jingled a packet of condoms in Cat's face. Forcing her to stuff them back in her bag despite the fact they were alone in the lift. "It's not happening, Nic. He's only a kid."
"Yes, but something tells me he thinks he can handle us." Nicola smiled like the cat that got the cream, licking her full lips. Cat was laughing and shaking her head adamantly.
"C'mon Cat... I have to get this one. I'm not the first to approach Tom, apparently he's happy being a 'pub' performer." Nicola rolled her eyes. Unable to accept that this young musician wasn't as ambitious as she was.
"Perhaps he is happy? If you ask me, he looked pretty happy up there playing to that small pub crowd." The women paused as the elevator doors opened.
"Fuck happy, that kid had every woman in the bar creaming their pants tonight! He's the key to an early retirement for me, so tits out, gut in."
Even though she was happy to accompany Nic to his room, Cat was aghast at the thought of having a threesome with Nicola Starr and Tom Bell. Cat had a very conservative outlook on sex, and threesomes were not on her sexual radar. Unlike Nic, who lead the type of life where sex parties were a weekly occurrence. Cat admired Nicola for her sexual freedom.
