Cassandra's surprise return

Chapter 2

A couple of hours had passed and the Kingdom of Corona was in Cassandra's vision.

"We're nearly there girl, come on!" Cass said excitedly as Fidella rode faster to get to the kingdom.

Cassandra didn't want to get caught just yet, so she put a cloak on to hide her face and she put a horse coat on Fidella to hide her appearance.

Cassandra took Fidella to the stables and put her in her space next to Max.

"Hey Max, you miss me?" Cassandra asked when she took Fidella's coat off and looked up at him.

Max certainly was excited to see Fidella and Cassandra, he began neighing quite loudly, but Cassandra quickly pulled his head down and shushed him.

"Shh, Max, no-one knows I'm here yet, it's a surprise. I'm going to go and see if I can find Raps, you know where she is?" Cassandra asked quietly.

Max turned around and looked at the window to where the throne room would be.

Cassandra knew exactly what he was meaning and smiled.
"Thanks boy." She said petting his nose before walking towards the castle.

The only people she showed her identity to so far was the guards, so they wouldn't think that she was an intruder. But she instructed them not to announce that she was back, as she was surprising everyone with her arrival.

Cassandra carefully opened the door to the throne room and snuck in with her cloak on, sneaking behind Rapunzel who was sitting reading a letter, most likely the letter that Cass had written only a few hours ago. She waited till Rapunzel put the letter down before screaming right next to her, making Rapunzel jump out of her skin, nearly falling on the floor. Cass just burst out laughing and held a hand out for Raps.

"Oh my- haha! You should have seen your face!" Cassandra said between fits of laughter.

"Cass!! What are you doing here!! I just finished re-reading your letter, it said..." Rapunzel began taking hold of Cassandra's hand pulling herself up before Cassandra interrupted her.

"I know exactly what it said, I mean, I am the one who wrote it, silly." Cassandra said with a smile.

"Wait, did you have all this planned out?" Rapunzel said with a smile as she wrapped Cass in a tight hug.

"I did, I wanted it to be a surprise for everyone." She said as she returned the hug.

Suddenly two young girls came running in.

"Mom! Hayley won't give me my doll back!" One of the girls whined.

"I only took it because Avery was being a meany pants!" The other replied.

"Now girls, what have we talked about?" Rapunzel said putting her hands on her hips. "Taking each others things and calling each other names isn't what we show in this kingdom now, is it?" She continued.

"No... Sorry Hayley... here's your doll back." The girl said as she gave the other girl the doll.

"It's okay Avery, I'm sorry for calling you names and being mean. Apology accepted?" The girl said with a smile.

"Apology accepted." The other girl said with a smile as she embraced the girl in a hug.

"There we go, now that's what we like to see, friendship and love, now girls, I want you to meet someone." Rapunzel said with a smile.

"Girls, this is your Aunty Cassandra. She's just returned from a very long journey, so I want you two to be gentle. Okay?" She said softly.
