The Party

   Im rummaging through my room looking for my necklace to wear to the party. Its a gold lockett inn the shape of a heart that my dad got me for my 15th birthday. At the time me and my mom were struggling financially so i could get Christmas or birthday presents for awhile. But my dad surprised me with this locket for my 15th birthday, and it's honestly the best gift ive ever gotten.

As im looking for it, i get an incoming Facetime Call from Jessica. I prop my phone up on my desk and accept the call.

"Ugh Jasmine are you ready yet? Im almost on my way to come get you."

"Yeah Jess im ready i just cant find my necklace." i say as im still searchinng for it.

"Does it matter? Your outfit probably doesn't even need it."

"Its not about the outfit, its about the sentimental value of it. Its my locket my dad gave me for my 15th."

"Oh.....well did you have it on yesterday?"

"Yeah it kept getting caught in my hair so i put it in my- got it!" I say as i hold it up.

"Okay good im pulling into the driveway now."

Jessica hangs up and i grab my phone and my purse and hurry down stairs. I heard my mom in the kitchen washing dishes.

"Bye mom. Love you gotta go."

"Wait where are you going?"

"With Jessica."

"Oh...well alright just be safe ok."

"Yes mom i know. Byyyeee." i said.

i walk out the door. I run to the car and get in and look at Jessica.

"We're going to a party!" We both scream in excitement.

"Ok ok ok we gotta get going. Do you know the address?"

"Pfft. Of course i know the address. Its Luke Summers house. He throws insane parties all the time. Who doesnt know his address."

"Well lets relax okay he said it was just a small gathering."

"Yeah i know but still. We're going to Luke Summers house to party with the actual Luke Summers."

I roll my eyes and shake my head.

"Why dont you like him? Everyone likes him." Jessica asks.

"Thats why. Because everyone likes him. Look i  dont doubt that the guy is a good person and all, im just not attracted to people who are out there like he is."

"Ohhh so your into those mysterious mischief types huh."

"I guess you could say that." i say staring at the window.

"Mmm like hallway boy?"

"Jess " i say in upsettingly.

"What? You met him on a hallway floor and then he just vanishes into thin air by lunch."

"He didnt vanish, he probably just doesnt eat lunch. Who knows he probably skips lunch and hangs out somewhere."

"Yeah okay Jas" jessica responded in disbelief

"Do you think he'll be at the party?"

Jessica shrugged her shoulders.
