Saturday Afternoon

"Oh gosh i can not wait for this weekend!" Jessica squealed.

" i know right? This is gonna be the best birthday ever."

Its Jessicas friend Melissa's 19th birthday this weekend and shes throwing a huge birthday bash. She's practically invited everybody.

"Ugh i just wish Luke would come. Him and his band could perform a song or two and having Luke there could totally boost my social status."

"Yeah well im not all that pumped about Luke at the moment."

"Uhhh is something wrong with your brain or something?! Its Luke Summers, the Luke Summers!"

"Yes Melissa i know its 'the Luke Summers' but after how he treated Jasmine, i havent been able to look at him the same."

"Ugh it was ome mistake! He even apologized to her in front of the entire school and she still turned him down. Just to leave with that skater boy. Ugh what the hell was she thinking? Theres no way shes coming to my party this weekend."

"Oh come on Mel shes my friend."

"Look Jess i know and im sorry but shes a buzz kill. Shes so uptight and such a stickler for the rules, she'll just bore everybody into leaving. Shes not coming. Sorry not sorry."

"Just think about it Mel. If you let Jas go, then Luke will follow. We both know how crazy he is about her. And if he finds out she going to be at the party, then he'll come too."

"You do have a point. I still dont see what he sees in her. Ugh fine she can come. But if she shows an ounce of unenthusiasim shes getting kicked out."Jessica squealed.

"Thank you Melissa i promise you wont regret it."

Saturday Evening

I was laying in my room listening to Trippie Redd when Jessica busts through my bedroom door.

"Would it kill you to knock?!"

"Get up and get dressed!"

"Ugh why?!"

"Because we are going to ......Melissas Nasty 19th Birthday Bash."

Jessica had this extended smile plastered across her face like the joker.

"No thanks."
I said getting back under the blanket.

"Nooo no no no no. Do you know how hard it was to get you to come?"

"Who said that i wanted to go? And besides she hates me."

"No she doesnt."

I looked at Jess with a serious face.

"Okay maybe a little. But Jas i need you to go. If you dont go, then Luke wont go, and if Luke doesnt go, then Mel is gonna have the worst birthday party of her life and shes gonna blame me up until we graduate."

"Wait what??? What does this have to do with Luke?"

"Ugh weren't you listening? Look it doesn't matter, i just need to you come with me."
Jess had a sad pitiful look on her face.

"Omg fine Jessica! But if im not having fun, im taking your car and leaving."

"Well yeah you kind of have to. Mel said that if you werent having fun, she was gonna kick you out."
