Evelyn.

If sleep is so important to our lives, why can I never sleep?

It's always dreaming about my dad.

I sighed, rubbing my eyes. With frustration, I took the covers off of me, throwing them to the side and sitting up.

5 am.

Not bad, in comparison.

Deciding my time would be wasted in bed, I got up and dressed for work.

Fitting on a dark, forest green suit with a black button-up underneath, I quickly fixed my hair into a neat bun.

It was going to be a long day, I thought annoyed to myself.

Lack of sleep just ruins everyone's day.

With the extra found time, I figured going to get coffee from Hailey's would be a good choice.

So, I went.

She had just opened the place, the only other person there being Kate. Hailey was happy but not surprised to see me there- though she knew what it meant for me to be awake early.

While I was there, I began to think about how Luke every morning got me a coffee.

Maybe I should get him one?

"Hey Hailey?" She turned around to look over me. I swallowed, looking around hesitatingly, though none of the other customers entering were close enough to hear me.

"Can you make Luke's usual as well for me?"

She looked taken aback, nevertheless adding it to my bill and labeling a cup with his name. Kate made my order while Hailey and I talked.

"So," She smiled, something mischievous clears on her mind, "How are things?"

I narrowed my eyes at her.

I was literally hanging out with her yesterday.

"Spit it out woman," I crossed my arms, "What's the deal?"

Her smile spread wider on her face, "You and Luke, huh?"

Immediately, I groaned. Of course, Kate babbled to her about the phone conversation.

It didn't help that I just ordered a coffee for him. Though he had been coming in every day for me, so why isn't it equal both ways?

Maybe because I am a heartless bitch most of the time.

"I'm just saying," She called my attention back to her, "I saw you two yesterday. You've never stuttered around anyone before."

Regretfully, she made a valid point.

I hate her.

Before I could speak, the coffee was done. I grabbed it, eyeing Kate's handwriting with Luke's name on one cup and mine on the other.

I turned around, about to exit when I stopped in my tracks.

Did I say his name three times or something?

Fucking Rumpelstilskin.

"Well look who's here," Luke shifted on his feet, smiling tiredly at me. His eyes were heavy like he just woke up.
