Evelyn.
I woke up again.
Alone and unfamiliar.
But this time, I knew I had to get out.
My hands were in pain from being tightened behind me all this time, Luke's belt looped around them.
I looked around, trying to see if anyone was near.
I shifted my fingers in the back, pulling on the loop slightly. It was a tiring and torturous action, forcing the leather out bit by bit.
I managed to slip it out of the first loop, craning my arms to get it out of the metal connector.
The belt loosened.
I shook my hands out, letting the blood rush back into my arms.
Rushing to the door, I tried to yank it open. It was locked, of course.
What did I expect?
My eyes shifted around the area, looking for something to pick the lock with. There was nothing on the floor, no pieces of scrap or anything.
I sighed, resting my hand on my forehead and looking around. My head tilted back to the ceiling, where I noticed a piece of metal hanging off slightly.
How to get up there?
I looked over to the hospital bed that they left in the room. Shifting it slowly on the wheels, I moved it directly under the scrap metal.
Stepping on it, I carefully pushed off and hung on a beam. It was a strong, firm one, where I hooked my feet in and gave myself a steady grip.
With that, I yanked the piece of metal out of the ceiling.
I dropped back down to the floor.
Moving to the doorknob, I slotted the piece in, shifting it in the keyhole and turning it until it made a perfect click.
Unlocked.
I opened the door, sliding it open carefully.
No one was in the halls, and I made my way down quickly.
When I turned a corner, I came face to face with Niall.
"Princess!" He smirked, "I was just coming to see you."
I swung at him, my hand fisting his jaw. He easily ducked it, gripping my wrist and yanking me right into him.
I clambered at his face, trying to get away or disorient him enough.
Niall wrapped his hand around my neck, tight enough to cause me to nearly lose consciousness.
"Let go of me!" I choked, reaching up to kick his head. I managed to do so, even in his hold but it was not enough to make him let go of me.
Niall pushed me down onto the table next to us, my back hitting it roughly and smashing things behind me on the table. A glass ash tray broke, cutting through my shirt and into the skin.
