Power Struggle

Chapter Nineteen

After a few hours of back and forths abouts plans the group finally settled on one. It involved getting all of Randy's agents with projectile based abilities on nearby buildings to act as snipers while John and his team acted at the main force. John and Sera would try to draw Eren into a position where he would be and easy target. Once he was in that position they would freeze him in time in a way that allowed the shooters to concentrate fire and hopefully render Eren unable to continue the fight.

After they decided on this plan the group split to get some sleep before the big fight. As John and Sera lay side by side in bed John began to speak.

"I'm sorry Sera, I shouldn't have brought you here, but we need your ability. " he said. "You should have stayed at Wellston with Remi and Asslo. Atleast you'd be safe there."

"I know you worry about me John, but-" Sera started before John cut her off."

"I love you Seraphina." Was all John said.

"Thats the first time you called me Seraphina since we really became friends." Sera replied. " and Love you too."

"Ah forget it." John said. "With your ability we can both rewind damage. Its Taz and Shannon we should be worried about."

"Yeah, your right." Sera responded. The two soon fell asleep next to each other.

John woke up early the next morning. He guess it was just his nerves. Figured he was worried about Sera, and that's why he couldn't sleep. After all, it wouldn't be the first time he had trouble sleeping when it came to Sera. Rather then try to fall back to sleep John got up and got dressed. He put on a pair of old blue jeans and a olive green t-shirt that had the US Marine Corps insignia on with with the words Semper Fidelis. Or Always Faithful. He grabbed a jacket, his wallet, and his phone and went for a run.

On his run he stopped at a Dunkin Donuts. He figured coffee and some donuts would do the group good before the know events of the day were to take place. He ordered some coffees and two dozen of asourted donuts and went back to Randy's place.

*It's good being back here after so long.* He thought. *I should take Sera out and show her around before we leave, maybe even say hi to my old man.*

"There you are." Sera said as John entered the room. "We were looking for you." Sera, Taz, Shannon and Randy were all seated at the table.

"I woke up early. I went and got donuts and coffee for everyone." John said setting the stuff down on the table.

"You're forgiven!" Taz cheered as he grabbed a coffee and chocolate glazed donut. Randy and Shannon began examining the donuts before Randy settled on a chocolate filled donut and Shannon took a vanilla with sprinkles.

"I know it's not your favorite stuff in the world, but it will do everyone some good to have some." John said sitting down next to Sera as he took a glazed donut and his coffee.

"I know, I'm just glad you're back." Sera replied.

"I left my car keys, so I had to, not going to get far without the trusty Nessian." John joked.

"I know, " Sera laughed. "It's just that I missed you."

Soon the donuts and coffee was gone and everyone sat and talked around the table.

About an hour later John found himself explaining the plan to bunch strangers of all kinds of levels of abilities.

*some of these kids can't even tell their ass from their elbow and we need them to help take down a rogue God tier.* John thought as he explained the plan.

It was at that moment when Sera thought she recognized a familiar face in the crowd.

"Blyke?" She said as she moved over to the redhead. "What are you doing here?" She asked once she could confirm it was in fact Blyke.

"I could ask you the same question miss Seraphina." The redhead retorted.

"Wellston's royals from here know the guy responsible for putting this together. I figured I'd tag along , see the new city." Sera answered. "Your turn."

"I heard they were gathering high and God tiers to fight some guy or something, I figured 'ah what the hell' and decided to come on up here." Blyke answered.

"They are. So what's an elite like you doing here?" Sera asked.

"Keene tested me. I'm a high tier now." Blyke answered.

"Well congrats on that." Sera paused. "And I'm glad I can trust at least one person providing overwatch for us."

As Sera said that John dismissed the crowd. He along with Taz and Shannon walked up alongside Sera.

"Hey babe, make a new friend?" John asked before realizing it was in fact Blyke. "Oh, you."

"Babe-" Blyke repeated, suddenly pausing. "Wait- don't tell me."

"We're dating." John said bluntly.

"Who's this?" Taz asked. "Wait, I know you, you go to Wellston."

"I'm a former jack. Before John became king and Remi got demoted." Blyke answered.

"Well nice to meet ya again." Taz replied before turning to John. "We should get going. Our sources say he'll be passing the baseball field in ten or so minutes."

"Then let's get going."

The four turned and walked toward the old baseball field. The ambush was prepared and everyone knew the plan. Victory would be easy if everything goes to plan. But that is a very big and quite possibly costly IF.
