Power Struggle

Chapter Twenty-Five

"First off I would like to congratulate you on your level up into a high tier." The Headmaster started. "Secondly I'd like you to explain what happened up in New Boston."

Blyke explained in great detail, leaving out much of the unknown female. He did mention bolts of white lightning, and other small details however. In the end Blyke's story was very similar to that of John's.

"Hm, well since you are the only person other then our four royals to see this person you are not to mention this to anybody. Is that understood?"

"Yes sir."

"Good. You are dismissed. If all four of the royals are out there send them in, if not, send in Arlo and Remi."

Blyke left the office. Quickly seeing that Seraphina was not present he sent in Arlo and Remi.

When the two came out they sent the royals in. This kinda pissed Cecile off considering she had been before any of the royals had arrived.

After about ten minutes the topic of discussion was changed to the press.

"I'm going to reinstall Isen as our head of the press. Cecile has gone against authority many times, Isen will follow orders." the Headmaster said. He then hit a button on the telephone on his desk. "Call Isen to my office." He took his finger of the button.

"Isen is here sir." A voice came through his phone.

"Send him and Cecile in."

The two then came through the door.

"You wanted to see me, sir?" Isen asked.

"Yes. I'm making you the new head of the press team."

"But sir!" Cecile cried out.

"Silence." The Headmaster turned and looked Cecile dead in the eyes. "Everyone in this room knows you have a serious problem with authority. And given the circumstances, put quite simply I can't trust you."

He then gave her the same speech he gave Arlo and Remi.

  "If anything said in here today gets out you will be the one held responsible." He then dismissed her. Cecile was visibly pissed as she walked out of the office.

"Now Isen, I need one more thing. What info have you found on Terrence. I have been informed of your secret investigation."

  Isen who was now very visibly shaken  by the headmaster's comment began speaking. He began tell the five othere present everything he knew on the young mid tier.

  After a long discussion the headmaster dismissed the group from his office.

  "Isen" John said grabbing his arm as he walked away. "As much as I hate you we need you. Considering Terrence is on the press team, you are to get us as much new information on him as you can."

  In a bathroom in the school a phone call was made.

  "They're onto me."

  "Relax, we have everything we need." The man on the other end said as he put a hand on a man's shoulder. "The only chip we need.

  "You mean?"

  "Yes, the boy's father. "Isnt that right Mr. Doe?"

  William tried to scream and move but the duct tape over his mouth muffled the sound, and the straps on the chair held him in position.

  "Whats the plan?"

  "Stall, two or three days."

  "How?"

  "Simple, you said they were onto you correct?"

  "Yes."

  "Stay away as long as you can. If the get their hands on you answer their questions. Just do not mention the bargaining chip."

  "And what of the others?"

  "Cathy and Kyle are ready."

  "And Eren?"

  "Recovering."

  "You'll only have one shot at this."

  "We know."

  "How do you plan on getting inside?"

  "I'm not going to say over the phone."

  "Smart-" he paused. "Someone's coming. " he hung up and hid in a stall.

  Taz was the first into the room. He saw Terrence through the stalk wall. "Hey, who's in here?" He called. No answer.

  Stepping a bit further into the room he repeated his previous statement to no avail, still no reply.

  Once he realized it was Taz in the room Terrence activated his ability and began to go invisible. He the climbed out from under the locked Stall door. Little did he know Taz could still see his heat signature due to his passive.

  "Hey Terrence! Stop!" Taz yelled as the middle tier took off running.

  Both hearing Taz shout and seeing the bathroom door swing open the royals gave chase behind  John, who could of course sence Terrence's aura.

  Taz came running out of the bathroom with his ability activated. John activated his shortly after Taz confirmed he had his activated.

  "Everyone clear out of here!" Taz yelled as John created a wall. People started running towards Taz who was about ten feet behind John when the explosion was heard. Terrence started screaming in pain as he became visible again and was lying on the ground drenched in blood.

  "Sera, call Elaine." John said turning back to face Terrence. "Now you little shit, your going to answer every question we ask you understood."

  "Ye-yes" Terrence said through the pain.

  "Good." John grabbed Terrence by the collar and turned to Sera who was on the phone with Elaine. "Tell her to meet us at the abandoned building off campus."

  Sera repeated the words to Elaine who was extremely scared of going off campus given the Headmaster's previous announcement.

  "Dont worry, we have permission from the Headmaster to go off campus, and we can get one other back on it." Sera said.

  "Wha-what about me?"

  "Answer correctly and Isen will get you back in, answer wrong, and well you'll  be spending the night waiting for your friends." John said.

  With that the four made their way off campus dragging Terrence with them.
