Two weeks later"Haha your hilarious.." Milo deadpanned, Lydia couldn't help but start snickering.
Before they knew it they were laughing uncontrollably on the couch as they tried to catch their breath.
Things had been a lot more comfortable lately.
Maybe too comfortable?
Milo thought as he looked over at his girlfriend. She had pretty much been sporting the same attire for the last week or two. Which consisted of his t-shirts and her leggings. He opted to look as comfortable as she did which meant wearing nothing but sweats.
At first he wasn't sure if it was some kind of game. Like who could go the longest without making a move as they lounged around barely clothed but as the days went on..
It just became normal.
Almost like they were that couple again.. Just you know without the kissing or the sex..
But as Lydia playfully punched his bicep, his laugh came out a little more forced.
Wait—Am I being friend zoned?
Lydia fumbled with her fingers, nodding as she listened to what was now a weekly meeting for them.
Therapy
Dr. Hill recaped what they had discussed and the notes from last week before smiling at them through their laptop.
"So how do you think this last week went?"
Milo looked at her before looking back to the doctor on the screen. Neither one of them liked going first. It was incredibly nerve wracking.
"It's been good." Lydia started, surprising the teen next to her as well as Dr. Hills.
It was only their third zoom meeting but it wasn't hard to figure out Lydia was the most fragile in this entire situation. She was also still scared of letting herself really accept the situation, because let's face it the situation is fucking crazy.
"At least I—I think it's been good." Milo nodded in agreement, moving his hand to rest on top of hers. He wanted to remind her he was right there to support her.
The feeling of his warm hand on hers oddly brought a small sense of relief.
"I agree. It's been good.. I think it's definitely been more comfortable?" Milo looked over at her, questioning her as well to see if she agreed.
"..b-but I'm kind of wondering if.. Maybe we're a little too comfortable?"Lydia looked over, arching an eyebrow at her boyfriend.
"Can you elaborate on that?"
Milo nodded, clearing his throat. A sudden heat creeping up his cheeks caused him to panic.
What if he was being completely stupid?
"I—Well—- I just meant that.. I'm afraid we're getting too comfortable in just a friendship type of way.." He winced as his voice cracked. Fuck I'm embarrassing.
Lydia looked over at Dr. Hill who was just nodding with a big smile on her face.
Did she ever stop smiling?
"Your afraid that Lydia is losing her interest in you romantically? That maybe that the chemistry has become a little bumpy lately? That's understandable and completely normal!"
