"Lyd.. you aren't on it anymore." As much as he tried to keep the emotion out of his voice and the truth off his face. He couldn't. He could never lie to Lydia..
Except you have been.. this entire time..

Lydia looked over at Milo, a sinking feeling settling in her stomach. Suddenly knowing they weren't going to pick up where they left off because she knew now.

Milo hadn't told her everything..

....

There's no way she heard him correctly..

"Of course I'm on birth control." She said matter of factly. Did she not tell him she was on birth control? In this life?

"You stopped taking it.." Lydia felt something in the pit of her stomach and it wasn't good. Even as she looked up at the basically naked guy in front of her. Why did he have to look so good in those tight boxers?

"Why?"  Why the hell would she stop taking it, she had to take it in this life right? She took it in the other one.. Now she was just confused. This didn't even sound like her, no matter what world. Lydia watched Milo turn his gaze to the wall. What wasn't he saying?

"Milo.. what are you hiding?" His face fell as he watched her take a unconscious step back. He was losing her... loosing the trust he had spent the last few months rebuilding.

"You.. we.." Fuck. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration. Wishing he could hit something. This wasn't something he ever wanted to have to explain.

"Lydia.. Y-your not my girlfriend." Lydia felt her stomach drop again. Fuck am I going to puke? —it was all a lie? —wait— What the fuck was happening?!

"You lied?" Milo shook his head, sighing as he turned toward his nightstand. She watched as he pulled a box out of the top drawer. Her breath hitched in her throat realizing what the box was. Okay now she was definitely going to puke.

"We're engaged.. or at least we were.. You never wear your ring to bed...When you couldn't remember me, I thought it would be best to ease you into all of this.." He started to explain, his voice sounding hoarse, empty. What the fuck.. I'm engaged ?

"I proposed on New Years, you said yes." His lips held a sad smile as he thought about the memory. The memory only he had. A unnerving silence fell between them as Lydia tried to process what he was telling her. Her brain felt like it was misfiring. Connecting all the dots, looking for more lies.

"We... we're we trying to get p-pregnant?" She had to force the word past her lips. It wasn't a word she liked. She never saw herself wanting kids much less actually planning for them.

Milo closed his eyes, his fingers digging into the palm of his hands. Here he was.. about to rip them both wide open again.
Fucking hell.
                                               She needs to know...

He walked past her leaving the room. Lydia opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. Before she could even ask herself another question he was back. This time wearing his shirt from earlier instead of just boxers. It kind of helped.
Milo was holding a small canvas picture in his hands. One of the ones hanging out in their living room.
"Have you ever taken a look at this one? Like really looked at it?" Lydia took it from Milo's trembling hands not understanding what had him so torn up about the photo. It was a photo of there hands intertwined or something like ——
That's when she saw it, she had walked past this photo so many times. All the photos of her and Milo being all in love had made her cringe in the beginning. Is that why she had missed this?
