A few days later..

Milo blinked a couple times, his brain slowly registering a sweet smell. Stretching out his arms and legs, he looked at the clock.
Five in the morning? The smell got stronger.
Did I leave the oven on? Throwing the blankets off his body he raced out of the guest room, through the living room and stumbled into the kitchen.
"Oh.. um good morning?" Lydia smiled nervously hoping she hadn't woken him up, knowing full well she did. She had thought she was being quiet. Milo took in the kitchen, un-iced cakes and cookies were everywhere. He then looked down at himself and realizing he had just busted into their kitchen in just his boxers.
"I-I thought maybe I left the oven on—what are you doing up?" Wiping the sleep from of his eyes he couldn't help but look at her in bewilderment.
"Orders! You tried cancelling 3 months of orders?!" Lydia suddenly remembered what got her so worked up in the first place. When she had first gone to the hospital for her head injury. She had agreed with Milo to take two to three weeks off work, redirecting her baking orders to other bakers in the area. However last night, in the middle of the night she got a email. A regular customer was upset to find out her order for her sons birthday next month was cancelled.
Milo had cancelled 3 months of orders...
Not two or three weeks.
"The doctor said—"
"—To take it easy for a week or two!" She was stirring the contents in her mixing bowl by hand. Milo was sure the sturdy wooden spoon would snap by the way she was working it.
"Okay I'm sorry just try to calm down." Speaking softly as he tried to get closer to her.
"I'm not a child! I don't need to be babysat and treated like a—" Lydia stirred harder and harder. Baking wasn't only her business, it was her stress relief. It's how she mentally worked things out. Milo knew she was seconds away from imploding. Panicking himself he yelled out in frustration.
"—I just wanted you to get your memory back!"

The bowl fell from Lydia's hands dropping to the floor. Her bottom lip began to tremble and her eyes turned glassy. Liddy never cried unless..
Shit..
Milo peeked over at the giant calendar on the wall. He knew exactly what was happening but he couldn't tell her he knew. That would just make it worse.

"Liddy come here." Cooed the teen, holding his arms out as he hesitantly came closer. Lydia hated feeling weak or needy but for some reason she felt herself burying her head into his chest.
Lydia didn't take stress or disappointment well, add in some hormonal monthly changes and her current situation and she was a complete mess of emotions right now.

"Let it out baby." He gently grabbed her by the waist, hoisting her up into his arms to bring her back to their living room. Milo was worried this was too intimate for her but he was use to holding her. Taking care of her.
She tucked her head into his neck, trying to take deep breaths to relax her small sobs. Her cheeks felt hot, the tears felt like they practically sizzled against her skin as they rolled down her cheeks. Beyond embarrassed and at a loss, she just wanted to run away but she found herself oddly comforted in the moment. Milo's long fingers stroked her hair and scalp soothingly, his other arm felt strong as he held her to him.
When she finally got herself to relax, wiping her face of the evidence. Pulling back she looked up at the boy holding her. His large hand cupping her cheek letting her know he was there for her.

Suddenly Milo grunted his eyes widening in surprise before they fluttered close at the sensation. Her lips captured his in a passionate kiss.
They hadn't even talked about the heated kiss they shared only days ago.. and now here they were again.
Milo moaned as she rocked her hips over his, mentally cursing himself for not putting more on. He couldn't get over how she was so shy and unsure of herself around him but found herself practically seducing him when given the chance.
Her fingers wove into his chocolate hair, gently tugging the strands. Lydia moaned into his mouth as she felt his erection throb against her thigh enticing a whimper for relief to leave Milo's lip. The kisses became needier.
Yup.
She was definitely on her period.
Besides being emotionally unstable, she was also extremely horny during that time of the month.

"Baby." Milo yanked himself out of her grasp, pushing her hips off of his trying to put as much space between their genitals as he could. He swore he could feel his heart beat in his ears as his blood was trying to rush to certain places.
"Fuck, your making this extremely hard." Cringing at his own choice of words he shook his head. "W-we can't—-I don't want to fuck this up.." Lydia bit her lip, another wave of emotion falling over her as she listened to his voice break. "I want you so badly gorgeous, believe me but I don't want it to make things worse.." Resting his forehead against hers he tried to inhale a deep breath through his nose. Reminding himself she wasn't his Liddy right now.
"I'm sorry." Milo sighed pulling her back to his chest as she began to cry again. Almost thankful for her tears, nothing killed a boner better thank a crying girlfriend. "Lydia, it's—-"
"No! It's not o-okay." She finally lost it, she had been trying to stay strong. She had been trying to figure her life out and where Milo fit in it anymore. It was hard.
"I don't remember anything! I probably never will.. and all you want is that Lydia back but she's gone. Milo she's gone." She choked a sob bubbling up in her throat. Disappointing people, actually hurting people and feeling like she wasn't good enough also wasn't something Lydia was use to. It was already taking a toll. A gasp fell from her lips, Milo's large hands cupping her face and jerking her head up. His eyes were bright, almost angry.
"Lydia, I don't give a damn if you never remember but I am not fucking giving up on you. You are everything... Stop beating yourself up baby."

Milo sighed looking down at the sleeping girl on his chest. Her eyes were puffy from her tears and the sight made his heart hurt. Just hang in there for me baby.
Looking up at the wall he knew he was going to have to get up. His zoom classes started in 15 minutes. As carefully as he could he got up from the couch, the padding of his feet was quiet as he took her down the hall towards the master bedroom.
Once he got her in bed he pulled the blanket over her and kissed her forehead.
"We're going to be okay Lyd. I promise."

After her nap,
Lydia decided it was best to take another two weeks off. But at the beginning of next month she would be back on top of her orders and everything. She just needed a little more time which Milo was thankful for. He knew her head injury was healed up and her memory was mostly likely not coming back. He was starting to accept this was his new normal...

Lydia was snuggled up on their couch in front of the fireplace. Hoping the ibuprofen she just downed would start working soon. The door opened and shut, Milo had left after he finished his classes. Telling her he needed to run to the store and get some things for dinner tonight. However she was surprised to see the contents of his outing.
"Okay I got you Chinese food, that cookie dough brownie ice cream you like and Reese's." He sang tossing her the bag of peanut butter chocolate candy. Mid tear into the bag of candy realization crossed her features and she gaped at him in disbelief.
"You knew ?!" The grin that broke out on his face was contagious, finding her lips turning up into one as well.
"Why do you think the 13th is circled in bright red on the calendar?" Lydia was at a loss for words and Milo couldn't stop laughing at the look on her face.
"Don't worry baby, I've gotten use to your monthlies by now. As you can see.. so hungry?"
"Did you get—"
"—Spicy noodles ? Duh"
"I'm starting to like you Manheim.." The words were playful but that didn't stop Milo's heart from skipping a beat. He got her a plate from the cabinet, trying to focus on the matter at hand...
Getting her to fall love with him again.
