Lydia sighed, Alice and her listened to the news anchor that had been listing off the amount of covid cases spiking around LA.
"A mandatory stay at home order is in effect and LA will remain on lock down for the time being."

"I really thought when they said everything would be fine in a couple of weeks.. that everything would actually be fine in a couple weeks. Fuck, Lydia this shit is getting scary.." Alice bit her lip. Her eyes not leaving the screen as they watched the footage of the practically empty grocery stores and the now desolate areas around town. LA once a city that was loud and busy was now a ghost town.

"I know.. but it's going to be okay." Lydia tried to assure her best friend but she too was wary of the future. She also had a ton on her mind and this shit was definitely not helping her current situation.
Yeah she was still going to bed just to wake up in an alternate reality where she was apparently a teenage heart throbs girlfriend..
When you put it like that it doesn't sound bad at all. It would probably be amazing if only she could remember a god damn thing.

"Your going to bed already?"
"Yeah, I just need to get out of my head for a bit. Night Alice."
Except I couldn't get out of my head, I couldn't even sleep and enjoy the ignorant bliss...

Lydia woke up to the sound of water running, quickly she realized Milo must be in their shower. While they slept in separate bedrooms she didn't have it in her to force him to use their guest bath. A sinking feeling suddenly over came her. If the news in her other life was bleak then she knew the same fate would be facing her here as well.

Swinging her legs over the bed, she got up and padded out of her room. She was only in a t-shirt and some knee high socks. It was one of Milo's black T-shirts and since it completely covered her bottom she decided against changing. Plus she desperately needed coffee first and foremost, and then she needed to watch the news.

It only took five minutes into the news broadcast to confirm her suspicions. LA was remaining in this almost pre-apocalyptic lock down. Rubbing her temples she was trying to figure out the best way to tackle her business. Looks like another month or two of orders might need to be cancelled..

"I didn't think you'd be up this early.." Milo trailed off his eyes finally taking in what his girlfriend was currently wearing. He mentally whimpered, biting his lip to hold back any embarrassing noises. Knee high socks that she always insisted on wearing with nothing else but some panties and one of his T-shirts was practically lingerie to the hormonal teen. However he couldn't do what he wanted to do to her right now, like he had so many times in the past.

Lydia turned to look at the teenager, sipping her coffee as she realized he was checking her out.
"Yeah.. I-I couldn't sleep." She lamely replied before nodding towards the tv. "And now there saying lock down doesn't have a end date in site, I know even know how far back I should start pushing orders. Birthday parties and weddings are being cancelled left and right.." Milo frowned, his sexual fantasies fading into the background after seeing the stressed look on his girlfriends face.
"Shit I'm sorry Liddy.. Have you thought about just putting it on hold until next year?" This only made her choke on her coffee. Her eyes meeting his in surprise.
"Like closing shop for the rest of the year?" She squeaked, he couldn't be serious. Milo sighed looking around their apartment as he tried to find the right words
"Well.. Babe come on.. It's not like you actually need to—" Before he could even finish his sentence, Lydia was walking past him. Milo groaned turning to follow after her as she made a beeline for the master bedroom.
"Lydia!" He called after her his long legs making catching up to her easier than it should have been. Swinging one of his arms around her waist he pulled her against him. "Liddy.. Come on please don't make this a big deal." She bit her lip before huffing in frustration as she tried to pry herself out of his grip.

Technically it wasn't a big deal. Well but then again it was. You see in this reality she could let her celebrity boyfriend pay the bills while her business took a break. In her real reality though she actually needed a plan. She didn't have anyone to take care of her there..
The back and forth was really starting to take its toll..

"I don't need any handouts!" Milo let her go causing her to stumble momentarily. Once she straightened up she glared at him, crossing her arms across her chest.
"It's not a handout!" He ran a hand through his hair in frustration. They wouldn't even be having this argument if she just remembered. "It's not a big deal.. You know it's not a big deal." He took a couple steps towards her, watching for any signs that she would explode. "Baby let's go on a walk..but first you gotta put some pants on." She laughed, sniffling at the end. Her cheeks felt hot as his fingers wiped at a few tears that managed to escape.
"I think I know what you need.."

"So good." Milo grinned, watching Lydia as she shoved another sushi roll in her mouth. He had called in an order at their favorite sushi place and picked it up on their way to the park and ride recreation area they usually hiked.

Once finding a nice secluded spot Milo spread out a blanket and they enjoyed the calmness of the nature surrounding them.
"I'm sorry.." Lydia mumbled, swallowing her sushi before looking over at the boyfriend who still felt like a stranger. He shrugged his shoulders working on swallowing his food. "It's okay, I'm sorry for making it worse."
"You didn't I'm just stressed out."
"I know. Things haven't been easy lately.." He took a deep breath, setting his food down before turning to face her fully. Lydia reluctantly put her food down as well, feeling something serious coming on. His fingers brushed her exposed skin in the ripped knees of her jeans. A shiver running down her back at the sensation of his finger tips tickling her skin.
"I was supposed to be taking you out on dates or trying to start things over..but honestly.. Liddy I don't know how to start over.." Taking a deep breath he licked his dry lips, trying to get the courage to keep talking. "I don't want to start over but I also don't know how to move us forward..."

She had to swallow the sob threatening to leave her lips. Of course he wanted to leave her. What was he supposed to do? Baby her forever? Deal with her seemingly never endless emotional roller coaster.

"I—I understand."
"You do?" He raised an eyebrow, because truly he didn't even know what he was saying himself.
"I can move back in with my parents." Milo stiffened his eyes widening as her words registered with him.
"No! Wait no I don't want—" She blinked back tears threatening to spill. Since when did she care so much if he left her or not?
He interrupted her thoughts the second his large warm hands cupped her cheeks. "—Lydia I am not giving up on you. Ever. We've been through way to much to end over something like this baby.." Milo instantly regretted the last sentence seeing her eyebrows scrunch together as she tried to piece together what he was saying.
"I-I thought we were like a Cinderella story?" He smiled as she tried to lighten the mood. Tucking a piece of hair behind her ear he nodded.
"Something like that.. Every story has its twists though. T-that ..but that is for another day." Lydia sighed, nodding as if she understood but surprisingly at this moment she didn't even care aboutbb by the unanswered questions. She felt her body start to relax itself. Realizing he still wasn't leaving her..

"What I was trying to say was, I just don't know what to do.. I'm so scared of messing this up. Do you think professional help would be something your open to?"
"Like therapy?" She pondered for a moment, honestly it was probably the only option they really had..
"Okay, let's give it a try."

Slightly, emotionally unstable young adult who's pretty sure she's living in an alternate reality.. going to therapy..to fix her relationship with her celebrity boyfriend who she has no memory of..
I mean what could go wrong?
