Milo watched as the love of his life laughed, genuinely laughed. Her eyes sparkled as the wonderful sound rang off her lips even her little nose scrunched up in that adorable way.

He was just so grateful to see her so relaxed and happy, even if it was because of someone else. They were at her parents house, away from the city and Alice of course rushed right over when she heard Lydia would be stopping by. He had to admit it though it kind of killed him a little, knowing she was so happy to be around her parents and Alice instead of him. He use to be her safe haven...

Stop it! She doesn't remember you yet.. She will. A part of her still loves you and always will, she just has to find it..

Milo desperately needed a breather, no one was even paying attention to him anyways. It was part of why he loved coming to Lydia's parents. Making his way out onto the upstairs patio that was attached to Lydia's old room, he could see the acres of green field the house sat on. Coming here always kept him humble and in the right headspace. He could be himself, no one treated him like a celebrity, he could breathe here.

Normally anywhere with Lydia was his safe place, their apartment, their place was his safe place but he was starting to worry. It was like she was already slipping through his fingers and he couldn't stop it.
Nothing could stop it.
And it was only day 2 of her memory being erased..
How would he be coping on day 15? Day 30? Would they even make it that far?
All his plans...their plans.. their future, derailed.

"Are you okay?" Lydia spoke softly as not to scare the tall boy in front of her. She noticed right away how white his knuckles were as his hand clutched the railing along the patio.
"Yeah." He tried to sound convincing but his voice was too raspy and immediately gave him up. Memories or not, she could see through his facade.
"You don't have to be so strong all the time you know.." She saw him shakily exhale before he biting his bottom lip.
"I hate not knowing if you'll ever remember us again. I-if I'm going to lose you..." They both heard the crack in his voice, the sob he desperately tried to swallow. "Fuck this wasn't suppose to happen not to us." Lydia couldn't help it, seeing the tears slowly roll down his cheeks. She wrapped her arms around his torso and buried her head in the crook of his neck.
"Milo it's okay, it's going to be okay." He barely heard her words over his own heart beat. Hammering away in his chest as she embraced him suddenly. Instantly his arms trapped her tightly, he needed this hug more than she realized.
"I miss you baby, so god damn much." Lydia swallowed the choked up cry threatening to leave her throat, squeezing her eyes shut in hopes of preventing the tears from spilling. It didn't help at all..
It broke her to see him like this, she didn't even know him but it tore her apart. She was doing this to him and she couldn't stop no matter how much she wanted to.
Milo pulled away just enough to lower his head to hers, cradling her jaw as he looked over every inch of her face. It felt like time stopped, his head was screaming that what he wanted to do next was a bad idea. But what if it helped her remember?
A noise of surprise left Lydia's mouth, Milo swallowing it with his. She was surprised how soft his lips were even as he practically crushed them against hers. His arm wrapped around her even tighter, the hand holding her jaw slid to the nape of her neck entangling in her hair to deepen the desperate kiss. Milo moaned lowly feeling her lips move against his but before he knew it Lydia was pulling away from him.

"I'm s-sorry I.. my parents are probably wondering what's taking so long." The teenager nodded letting her pull out of his embrace, the heat rising to his cheeks. "I'm sorry Lyd.." His eyes didn't dare to look anywhere but at the tops of his shoes, his plan backfired what was he thinking?
"Milo—it's— it's okay.." A soft exhale of breath fell from his mouth, the warm feeling of her lips on his cheek coming as a shock. He watched her quickly leave the room before leaning all his weight against the railing of the outside balcony.
I miss you Liddy..
