During the two hours trip, she had the music blasting with the hits 1980 songs. In one hand, she held a package of peanut butter cookies and the other hand was on the steering wheel. She dressed in hiking boots, jeans, and short sleeved blouse. Her long hair was pulled into a ponytail.

The morning air was brutal and yet perfectly calming. The early morning sky stared at Catherine and the sun smiled at her.

Her phone started to buzz and buzz. Being on an open country road, she took her phone out of her pockets and unlocked with the Face ID. Opening up the iMessage app, she glared onto the messages.

'Hurry! Time is ticking'
'I don't got all day'

After driving for an hour more, she made it to the old campground...where it all started. She glanced at the campground sign and grinned. She used to attend to this place when she was young.

A lean figure walked towards Catherine and carried a bright orange package. Catherine studied their face; deep-set eyes with dark brown hair, high cheekbones and a slightly pointed nose. She could tell they just had major surgery done. "Detective Sexton?"

"Yes this is her," Catherine said. Her back was against a huge spruce tree with M + A carved in. "You must be....?"

There was a loud pause. Catherine studied their face again. Perfect pleasant face. The figure caught her in her glance. "My name? That'll not be revealed...just call me Jane."

"What's in the package, Jane?" Catherine asked. Her lips quilted.

"Your evidences. The name is Mason Woodard. He killed the students and teachers here years ago. His sister too. In the package you'll find the mask and a few more evidences" The figure slid the package against the dirt pavement.

"Do you think Mason is behind this? Why wait this long and go by Jane?" Catherine asked. "I read about this! Nobody could explain how the ax murderer got away with it."

"I do believe so ma'am. I'm a good friend of his and can't get caught," Jane said walking into the forest and humbling. "His side kick was Alex but he's dead."

Before Catherine could say thank you, Jane was gone into the forest. Catherine spirited away to her vehicle and hesitated on opening the box. "His masks and evidences? What evidences could Jane be talking about?"

Her hands gripped the lid and began to open the box. Inside was a newspaper, the mask, few strands of hair and what it seemed to be was a vein. Her eyes grew wider. First she took out the newspaper, dated back to April 13 2004.

"Ten bodies were found?" Catherine asked herself. "Seems like an odd number to match the killings."

Catherine speed dialed her sidekick on the case. She knew he needed to get Mason into questions right away. The phone kept ringing and ringing until he finally answered.

"Its Bowsom!"

"Henry! I need you to get Mason Woods and bring him into questioning. I believe he is our murderer."

"How do you know that?"

"It's a long story for later tonight. Can you please do it?"

"Can't it wait? I'm almost finish with my donuts!!"

"There's no time and besides donuts aren't on your low carb list."

Catherine hung up the phone and threw it in the back. Her arm reached out and changed the country radio station, she couldn't bare listening to the station. Not that she didn't despise the songs, it brought back memories of her late husband. Her eyes were scanning the empty never ending road, hoping to find a body or on the loose ax murderer.

She triggered the office radio mic. "This is Detective Catherine Sexton and I'll be there in thirty with evidences of The Ax Murderer. When Bowsom returns with Mason Woodward do not cause no panic. We don't even know if this is our guy."

"Roger that, detective." The dispatcher came back moments after. The dispatcher waited a few more minutes, then said. "Bowsom has brought in your suspect."

"Keep Woodward around," Catherine said. Her eyes were on the road. "Don't let him leave."

She hung up the radio mic. For the whole ride she thought of questions she could ask and if he's the suspect she's looking for.
