Mason and his friends couldn't believe what they saw. Attached to the message was dozens of images of Amber's and Jenna's naked torso ripped to thread, organs were in absence and were replaced with animals' teeth and pigs' snouts. The images sent chills down everybody's spine especially Destiny.
"This isn't funny," Destiny explained. Her fingers quickly deleted the images and text message. "Do we still have the party?"
"Who could have done this?" Cora asked swiftly after dropping her pen against the table. She turned her full attention towards Mason and crossed her arms at her abdomen. "Should we cancel the back to school party?"
Mason sighed. "This is our senior year. This is our last year we'll see each other as a group," He responded. "No matter what, we can not cancel this party."
Mason's hand clenched onto his ax against his bare chest. His grin sent chills down Alex's spine. They were almost the perfect killer couple. "Oh Alex. You really thought we would be a power couple?"
Alex nodded and tried to not bat an eye. "You said we would!" he yelled.
"I said a lot of things. How I loved you and made you felt wanted. This was my whole plan; made you felt wanted, have you as my partner in crime, have sex with you, and slaughter you."
Mason chuckled darkly. He stared at Alex's joystick and grinned. He had a blizzard of ideas to murder his boyfriend. "You may want to bit on something. This will hurt much more than earlier."
With one swift move, Mason took the axe down the middle of Alex's sexual organ and split it in half. He could hear Alex scream and it brought joy to his eyes. "Tried to warn you," he shrugged and delivered the axe to his soon to be late ex chest. "I wonder what inside your chest looks like?" His medium-long hair and face was gathered with Alex's blood and dried sperm.
Mason drove the ax trafficked through Alex's chest; torn into his rib cage, forced into the heart and out his spine. His entire neck and chest were covered in blood.
Seb waved his hand in front of Mason. "Earth to Mason," he said. His voice was questioning. "Are you there?"
Mason nodded. "Do you remember Mrs. Kuchin our first grade teacher made us write five things about us?"
It was how Mrs. Kuchin bond with one another. It how there wasn't any disagreement and how Mason bonded with Cora and Knox.
"Of course I remember that. How could I not remember how we first bonded? It was about how we didn't like-"
"Bananas and that we believe and protest that it shouldn't be a fruit," Mason cut Seb off. "We all should get ready, can't be late to class."
Mason stood and stretched as he gathered his belongings and headed out the double cafeteria doors.
The long narrow hallway was tight; accidentally bumping into everyone on the way to the gymnastics room. The stairs were crumbling with crowds shoulder to shoulder. Stain glass hung above the stairs and paintings of Shakespeare and flags.
His heart was racing to the beat of footsteps on the stairs. "Almost there," He said.
After minutes of climbing the stairs, he reached his destination to the left. The gymnastics room screamed anxiously and that he didn't belong there.
Mason locked his full attention at Mr. Fetchen salt-and-pepper pompadour and fleshy features. He squeezed through the crowd on the bleachers. Passing up a long blond, it jogged his memory and looked familiar. His sister."Good morning everyone! Get your pencil and an eraser. You know the drill after finishing go and run some laps," Professor Hilton said.
"Mister, I didn't get one."
"Who said that?"
"Me. Mason Woods."
"Please come and get one."
"Omg. It's the guy who survived the attack. Is he the only survivor? I wish he was my friend. He kept his friends close and safe and his enemies closer," A voice spoke as Mason passed.
"He should sit by us at lunch. Who knows if he was the only survivor. Let's ask him at lunch."
Mister Fetchen handed Mason the copy of the paperwork as he sat back down on the bleachers, reading about questions for health. Turning the first page and starting the paperwork, he stared at the questions and wondered if it was even in the notes.
His phone buzzed in his pocket. He took a cautious look around the room, making sure nobody was watching. It was a text message from an unknown number, attached with an image. Not again.
You should be careful of who you trust. You don't want anyone or yourself to end up like this, right? - Xoxo
The images showed his old teacher, Mrs. Kuckin had a noose fastened around her neck with her legs bent in a way that you were able to see the bones.
Shit, Mason thought.
