The once mighty Phoenix King lie still, unable to move. He had been slammed into the dirt so hard, it would be hard to believe he still had consciousness. Aang, after inspecting him for a few seconds, was finally free of the Avatar State. He slowly dipped down, and landed in Katara's arms. "Aang! You did it! You defeated the Phoenix King!" Katara said, proud.

"Y-yea, but we still have to get him out of this place, or even quite possibly take away his..." Aang stopped himself. He remember meeting this giant Lion Turtle... he taught him countless things, and multiple different views, but most importantly; enlightenment. He learned how to take away people's bending, and was now pondering the idea.

"Aang, what? What are you going to take away?" Katara asked, seriously concerned.

"I... I think I can take away his bending. We just need to keep him on the ground until the comet completely passes." Aang adds. Almost on que, the comet soars over the sky, the point where they would have been the strongest. and leaves the earth's atmosphere. The comet was gone. They had prevented world domination. With help of the Water tribes, and somewhat from the Earth Kingdom, as well as some of his closest friends, they had finally done it. Even after everything that had happened. Everything.

"If... do you really think that's a good idea?" asked Katara, thinking over the idea just as hard as Aang was.

"I don't know... but its our best shot at taking away his power." added Aang. Katara shrugged, but after giving it second thought came into agreement. The sun was setting. It was slowly getting dark. Not even Sokka was in nearby proximity; that's a first. thought Aang. Laying in Katara's arms, he wanted to pretend he couldn't get up. He wanted to stay there forever. But they knew what they had to do. Aang flew over to where Ozai's body was, and Katara stuck all his powerful and dangerous limbs to the ground using the strongest ice she could. Aang than put a hand on his forehead, and a hand on his chest. He could feel the power, the dark power manifesting him. He couldn't lose this battle. He couldn't.

"A...aang!" Yelled Katara. She was clearly scared. From what she could see, she could see orange and blue light shooting out of their facial features, and Katara sat down and just watched, tears streaming down her face. She was scared for him. She loved him. She couldn't find herself again if he was hurt, or killed. Than, Ozai's darkness rose and began corrupting Aang's body. All of the gaang surrounded in horror. They had seen the light from the sky. They knew that Aang could win this fight. He was the avatar. He was their friend. The second the light was about to consume his body, completely, the light began to shine brighter. The gaang had to cover their eyes, it was getting so bright. They had remained speechless. Nothing to say, only to worry and to hope. Aang's light shone bright, and it began to overpower Ozai's corrupt soul. Quickly then, Aang devoured his soul; as Ozai and Aang both fell to the ground. They were both asleep. They all helped Aang, and carried him to a place where he could peacefully rest, meanwhile the Earth Kingdom guards who were still alive dragged Ozai to a prison cell.

"DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM! I AM THE PHOENIX KING!" yelled Ozai, in revolution. Nobody cared. As a matter of fact, people began laughing at him. "Phoenix the Phony! Phoenix the Phony!" people started chanting deliriously. The Phoenix King then, and only then, admitted to defeat, and let himself get dragged away.

13 Long Hours later...

"Aang! You're awake!" said Katara, thrilled.

"Yeah I am." he said, still pretty sore. He rested his head back down after lifting it up trying to speak.

"Here, I have some water for you." she said. He gulped it down, dehydrated and hungry. Is this how it feels to be Sokka? He wondered.

"Thank you." he added, staring into her sapphire blue eyes. She stared back, marveled.

"Listen, I just wanted to talk about that ki-" Katara was cutoff. Putting a finger on her lips, he added "Come here, I have to tell you a secret." he said, smirking as lowly as possible. As soon as she was within arms distance, he grabbed her, and pulled her into a very, very passionate kiss. It lasted for a while until Sokka pranced in.

"Hey I heard-" Sokka stared. "I... I heard Aang was awake but uh..." He added "You guys seem to be busy..." He walked out. "Oogies." he said under his breath. The kiss continued. Finally, Aang thought he had the courage to get up. They walked outside, to see the area under reconstruction.

"Woah. They really decided to renovate this place." Aang added, looking here, and there at everything nearby even visible. He knew there was more, but from what he could see, Ba Sing Se had invested in more publicity, and keeping the environment healthy, and growing. The rings were still there, which was a bit unfortunate because he had hoped they would have brought forwards equal representation or atleast equality, but Ba Sing Se would probably come to their senses after a while. King Kuei was a smart individual. While looking, he turned to Katara. Over the last year, he had grown to be about as tall as her, and they could look at each other at eye level, which was nice. Aang held out his hand, and Katara happily accepted it as if it were a gift from the gods. Oh no. But it is a gift from the gods. I could've never asked for something better than this. She said to herself, smiling. The world had so much renovation, so much rebuilding to take to after the Fire Nation had fallen. Well, it hadn't fallen. But the restless tyranny was gone. Now, an ally, Firelord Zuko, was in charge of the country, since Azula obviously couldn't take to the thrown.

It was time to begin a new journey.
