Episode Seven, Part 6:
Life SupportI'm asking life for another chance before they put me
in the ground. Lord, I swear I will do my
best on my second time around.Wynn's eyes burst open, delivering him back into the world he had once tried to flee from. He began coughing, choking almost, but all were attempts at trying to take a breath.
"Wynn? Wynn, can you hear me?"
He nodded as best as he could, closing his eyes again to try and focus on regaining his breath, not realising in the heat of the moment that it was because he wanted to; he wanted to breathe; he wanted to fight.
"He's okay. His heart rate is coming back up. He's pulling through."
"Thank you!" Sol breathed out, momentarily resting her head over Wynn's chest as she tried to compose herself, mustering all the strength she had inside of her to be able to help him.
"You're going to be okay, Wynn," Sol assured him, moving her hands to cup his face. Her thumbs rubbed soothing patterns on his temples, slowly coaxing him into opening his eyes again.
"Hey," he breathed out, sounding exhausted and desperate for sleep. "My Sol."
"Damn right, your Sol," she beamed down at him, blinking the last of her tears away for his sake. "But I'm supposed to be this fearless Nobel Sovereign, and you keep ruining my image," she teased him. "So try not to die, okay?"
"Okay," Wynn chuckled, finally forcing himself to sit up. He was weak and a little lightheaded at first, but he knew he didn't have any time to wait around until he began feeling any better.
"Where's Elara?"
Sol glanced over at Aeryn and Fenn, debating whether or not to tell him. For all she knew, any determination Wynn had in him to stay alive was resting on her answer.
"I think she's still with Quill and Kodiak."
"Good," Wynn let out a breath, swinging his legs over the side of the bed. "Because she's alive."
"What do you mean?" Fenn interrupted, moving around to grab onto one of Wynn's arms, assisting Sol in bringing him to his feet. "Do you know where we are? What happened to you-"
"She was shot, I know," Wynn answered, managing a slight smile in amusement that Fenn seemed to think he had no idea what had happened. "But Athena got the combination from me, right? And it's going to work. We need to get to them so we can get off this ship. And what about the rest of our people? Have we managed to-"
"Wynn, just... Just slow down for a second, okay?" Sol frowned, setting her hand on his chest. "We haven't heard anything from the others about Elara, but we need to get you to the basement of the ship because you're in no position to scare off any Neptunum who might try and attack you. I got everyone out of their cells; they should be on their way to the vessel ships by now, which is exactly where we're taking you, and I'm not going to take 'no' as an answer."

There was a harsh banging on the door outside, somehow desperate and pleading, and Kodiak had to think twice before he wanted to dismiss it.
"Open the door, Ammon," he could hear someone call out to him, but with all the furniture standing between him and whoever was on the other side, it was hard to recognise the person's voice.
"Kodiak? What do you want to do?" Chessca asked, nervously looking to him for an answer. Liam in the room standing right behind her, equally unsure about what to do, unable to offer any help into the situation.
