Chapter Four

Aran's P.O.V

"Its been almost 30 minutes and Yuri still isn't back. But I love spending time with Isla. Seeing her smile is the most precious thing ever and I'm happy that I'm the one to make her do it. "

Our food came. Even though I love this moment I'm having i can't just forget Yuri. Shes our new partner and we need to learn how to look out for eachother. After debating it for a few times I finally decided to ask the question.

"Hey Yuri has been out for a while now. Should we check on her"
Isla smile faded

"Do you want to check on her?" Isla asked

"I think we should. She's our new partner and we need to start looking our for eachother" I responded. she seems to not care about the situation

"Then go get her"

"You're not coming? "

"Someone needs to watch the food and stay at the table"

"I guess you're right" I said as I stood up and walked to the restaurant doors.

I'm not gonna force her to come. I know it takes time for her to warm up to others but It seems like Yuri is gonna have a hard time for a few months.

Yuri P.O.V

I kicked him in his stomach one more time as he yelped.

"Stupid ass bitch." I mumbled to myself.

If I didn't catch myself I would've killed him and his fucking goons. But breaking a few bones is enough. Ill erase the memory of me and Isla. I don't need them giving me anymore trouble. When they wake up they'll just be in an alley with broken bones, a few third degree burns and they'll have no idea what happened. I touched my face. Ill admit his first few punches did hurt. I don't know why I let him hit me. I just wanted to see how strong he is. I started to heal my face and bruises. I finished that and started to clean the blood on my clothes but I had to stop when I felt a familiar presence.

"Of course they would come out eventually. What phone call is that long? " I cursed at myself internally.
I quickly rushed out of the alley and pulled out my phone trying my best to look normal as if there isn't 3 almost dead bodies behind me.

"Okay okay I understand but I really have to go. Ill call you back later" I said. I fake hung up the phone and turned around to see Aran waiting for me to finish.

"Aran I'm so sorry. I took too long. Something happened with family and-"

"It's fine you don't have to explain." He responded carefully "I just wanted to make sure you were still here and didn't get abducted" he laughed at the last part

I smiled

"But our food is here so come eat bro" he motioned for me to follow and of course I follow eagerly. I am hungry.

Isla P.O.V

I looked up to see Aran and Yuri comming back into the restaurant smiling.
They sat down

"Im so sorry for taking so long" Yuri said

"Its fine" I responded plainly not even looking at her before I continued to eat my food.

She stared for a few moments before digging into her food and talking to Aran. As we were eating I see out of the corner of my eye something red on Yuri's clothes and curiosity got to me. I looked at it and analyzed it for a few moments before making eye contact with Yuri. I could've sworn her eyes were dark brown. But they look like a dark red. "Its probably the restaurant lights messing with the colors." I thought. I stare at her before she breaks eye contact and continues to talk to Aran. I keep a mental note to add that to the list of suspicious things about her.

Extremely fast reflexes
Good Aim
Steady hand
Left for 30 minutes and came back with a red substance on her shirt and dark red eyes. This is something straight out of a Sci-fi book. She's not normal.
