Chapter 10: Street Race Pt. 2

ROSÉ POV

Onto the 2nd lap, and I saw that Jimin's car was behind Niko's car.

"Come on, Jimin," I mumbled.

I set my hands together and placed the tips on my lips, hoping he can still pull this off. Jisoo was right beside me, watching the action unfold.

"Hey, girls, what's up," Suga said, walking up to us.

I made may towards him and gave a little shove.

"Hey, what the hell Rosé," Suga said.

"This is your fault," I said.

"How is this my fault," Suga asked.

"We could've been at your house resting, but you had to place your stupid fucking bet. I'm on the fucking line now," I yelled at him.

"Relax, it's fine," Suga said.

"No, it's not fine, uh, god, I want to punch in the face right now," I retorted.

"Hey, guys, look."

Jisoo called to our attention when she was pointing to something on top of a rooftop. I looked to see what it was, and~ oh shit.

"How the hell did Blackbird find us," I said.

"Wait, who," Suga asked.

"Suga, there's no time to explain we have to get out of here now," Jisoo said.

"But what about Jimin? He still needs to finish the race," I said.

We were in a stalemate at the moment. We didn't know what to do. We need to come up with a plan.

"Suga and Rosé, you go keep Blackbird distracted. I'll wait until Jimin's done racing," Jisoo explained to us.

Suga and I then left the area and headed towards the direction of where Blackbird was.

JIMIN POV

We were going at it again; this time, the sharp corner I slowed upon, I could start at a good pace maintaining my speed through the turns. I was now catching up to him. I made it past through the narrow road, and now it was going uphill. Once I got to the top and onto the curly highway, I noticed when I looked up that Niko was slowing down and bit. I sped up, catching up to him and down to the straightaway.

2/3 LAP

It was the final and stretch, and both of us were neck and neck again. We just passed the cheering crowd, which was now roaring louder than ever. I turn to look out my window, and I saw Niko, who was staring right back. I then turn around onto the road and overtake.

*bump*

"Ah, shit, what the hell," I said.

Niko was bumping his vehicle into mine, which slowed me down, making him retake the lead. Oh, you want to play dirty, huh. When we got to the sharp curve, I didn't even bother to slow down. Once I hit the corner, I drifted my car to the side and smashed the pedal heading into the narrow street. I was on the tail of Niko's car. Heading up the hill, I again hit my pedal. Onto the Curley road one last time. I was drifting left and right, keeping my momentum and onto the straightaway. Our cars were almost at the same length as each when heading the finish line.

"Huh, what's this," I wondered, looking switch on the top of the car.

I flipped the switch, and when I pressed the gas pedal, the force was so strong that my bad was going back up against the seat. My car was going so fast.

3/3 LAPS

Finally, the race finished, and Niko and I slowed down our cars right in front of the bar. I got out of the vehicle, and the public crowd was cheering. Niko got out of his car and put his hands up in the air.

"Yeah, baby, still undefeated," I heard him say.

"Bullshit, I beat you," I yelled from across.

"Oh really, well then let's have a quick look at the photo finish, shall we," Niko insisted.

We walked over to this random person who had their phone out and took the picture at the very end. Niko and I looked at the picture, and we saw who really won.

"And the winner is..............

"JIMIN, JIMIN!!!!" someone yelled out.

I turn around and see Jisoo walking up to me.

"What's going on," I asked.

"There's something important that popped up," Jisoo said.

"Wait a minute, where's Rosé and Suga," I asked.

"That's what I'm trying to tell you."

Jisoo then yanked my arm and pulled me to the side of the building.

"Jisoo, you're scaring me; what happened," I asked.

"During the race, we noticed Blackbird on top of one of the rooftops," Jisoo said.

"So where are the rest," I asked.

"They went to go stall while you finish the race," Jisoo replied.

*BOOM*

All of a sudden, we Jisoo and I hear this big explosion that made us jump. I head to see what it was and see that Niko's car exploded into pieces. The people within the blast got significant injuries. Jisoo went to check on the people, and I went to go check on Niko.

"Niko, wake up, man, hey dude," I said, tapping his shoulder.

I then placed two fingers around his neck to feel a pulse.

"Okay, we have major injuries here; how's Niko doing," Jisoo said, coming back to me.

"H~He's dead, Niko's dead," I said.

"No," Jisoo gasped.

Jisoo carried his body over to the side while I inspected his vehicle. That's when I came across some materials I found on the road: wires and bits of burnt gunpowder.

"I've seen these before," I thought to myself.

These are components of a bomb. But who would attach it to Niko's car? That's when I looked up and saw Blackbird.
