Darkness, that was the first thing I remember. It was dark, cold, and I was scared. But then, I saw the moon. It was so big and so bright. It seemed to chase all the darkness away, and when it did, I wasn't so scared anymore. Why I was here, what I was meant to do. That, I have never known, and a small part of me wonders if I ever will.

The year was 1712 during a cold winter night. Crickets chirped through the night as a boy emerged from a special lake. Dazed and confused, he opened his eyes only to be faced with the moon in all its splendor.

"Jack Frost." it said, "Your name, is Jack Frost."

And with that, Jack's feet slowly met the ice on the lake, leaving him to explore his surroundings. About to take a step forward, his foot touched a foreign object.

Looking down, he saw that what his foot touched was a wooden staff. Jack reached for the staff and examined each groove and it's delicate patterns of frost. He set the staff beside him only to flinch as ice blasted out of it.

Jack then touched a tree with his staff, only to have it cover in frost. His happiness only grew with each tree he froze and snowflake he created. Running and prancing about, the wind swooped him up, catching him off guard.

"I CAN FLY???" Jack thought.

And before he knew it, he was headed straight for the ground. Luckily he was able to land on a tree branch and not on the ground. That would've not been so great.

While all this was was happening, a girl was being lifted off the remains of a burnt house. Also dazed and confused, the girl was met with the full moon shining it's light on her.

"Ash." it said, "Your name is Ash."

And with that she was put back on the ground, leaving her to explore her surroundings too. She noticed something glowing within the pieces of wood and ashes. She crouched down for it and picked it up. It was a metal staff.

The glowing stopped once Ash had picked it up. Once she set it on the ground, fire shot out of the bottom of the the staff, startling her greatly.

"I can control fire? Wouldn't that be dangerous?"
Ash worried.

All her worries were put to rest though, after finding out that this newfound power of hers was quite easy to control. With the wave of her hand she was able to create all sorts of things made of fire.

Spinning about with her staff, she too was caught in the wind's clutches. Unlike her icy counterpart, Ash didn't fall straight to the ground. The wind, with her gentle hands, put Ash down gracefully.

Laughing in relief and glee, her giggles were cut short when she heard the screams of another. The crunching of the dead leaves on the forest floor resonated in the night as Ash was trying to find the source of that yell.

While walking, Ash pondered whether there was a town near by. She couldn't be out here in the cold. Speaking of cold, she actually felt rather warm, warmer than a human normally would in this weather.

It was not until a couple moments later that she came across a lake that was frozen over. Ash stepped onto the clearing and on the ice, calling out to see if anyone was there.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" She called.

"UP HERE!" a masculine voice answered.

Looking up, Ash saw quite an amusing scene. A boy with white hair and blue eyes was hanging onto a tree. He also seemed to have a wooden staff similar to her own.

"Um, hello. Uhh, by any chance do you know if there's a town near here?" The mysterious boy inquired.

"I was actually looking for one myself! By the way, who are you?" Ash said.

"The name's Jack. Jack Frost. And you?"

"I'm Ash. Nice to meet you, Jack."
