Part 16

George's POV

Slowly entering the cobblestone structure I can see that there is no light.

A shadow walks across the back wall and I feel myself freeze.

"Hello? Who's there"

I see a torch lit and placed down lighting up the small room. The shadow is not a person, and one I recognize.

"GEORGE?!"

"BAD?!"

"OH MY GOODNESS, YOU LITTLE MUFFIN"

Bad runs over to me and gives me a hug, one I really needed. Wrapping my arms around him I feel myself start to tear up as I come to the realization of what has happened.

Bad pulls away and wipes a lone tear that slipped down my face.

"What are you doing here you muffin, you have only died once right?"

I start to nod before stopping. Confusion clearly written on both of our faces.

"What do you mean I've only died once? We only get one life right? Also, what are you doing here?"

Bad let's out a small chuckle.

"One question at a time please. Anyways, so technically you get only one life, but you can respawn twice. As long as one of you completes the challenges without losing any lives, everyone stuck here can go home."

I stare at him a few seconds longer before I awkwardly smile.

"So why are you here"

Bad let's out a sigh.

"Well you see, I came here with skeppy and punz, but we didn't make it so now we are stuck here until someone wins."

I nod my head when I feel the ground shift behind me.

"George?"

I turn around and come face to face with someone else I didn't think I would meet.

Punz?"

He nods cracking a smile.

"What are you doing here, you still have two respawns."

I look at Punz skeptically.

"Have you been watching us?"

He opens his mouth to reply before shutting it and looking around.

"Anyways, what are you doing here, you should be respawning before they bury you alive."

Quickly standing up I offer my hand to Bad which he accepts as I help him stand up.

"So... how to I respawn"

Punz reaches down and grabs my hand showing me my watch. He puts in a few buttons and a big respawn button shows up.

"Just press the button."

I take a deep breath and get ready to hit the button, but I stop. Turning towards the two other spectators I pull them into a hug.

Punz pulls away first, but Bad whispers something into my ear before he grabs my wrist and hits the respawn button for me.

Punz POV

As I pull away I give a small nod to Bad silently telling him to tell George what he needed to and then send him back.

He grabs George's wrist and hits the button. A few seconds later George drops to the ground before his body disappears.

"Do you think it will work?"

Bad removes his gaze from where George was a few second prior and looks up to me.

"We can only hope, for all our sakes"

Dream's POV

Slowly Sapnap and I make our way back to the house where y/n awaits. I have George's body slung over my right shoulder as we carry him to his final resting place.

I feel George starting to slip down my shoulder and I readjust him. He moves again and I feel hands pushing against my back.

"Hey, Sap, can you stop pushing me"

"What do you mean, I haven't touched you"

I look and see Sapnap to the left of me when I feel the body moving again. Without thinking I drop George onto the sand and start to unsheathe my sword.

"Dream what are you doing, we need to get back to y/n, she probably worried sick."

He starts to walk over to the body when I put my hand out to stop him.

"Don't"

A few seconds later George's body twitches.

Once

Twice

Three times

A minute passes where George doesn't move, but out of nowhere he starts coughing and his eyes squint open.

I quickly grab water from my backpack as Sapnap kneels down beside George and helps him sit up.

Holding out the water to him he takes it and starts to drink it, his coughing fit slowly coming to a stop.

I sit down beside him and help Sapnap keep him propped up as he drinks.

We are silent as Sapnap and I stare at George waiting for him to finish drinking so he can explain what is going on.

George finishes the water before almost collapsing onto the sand. He leans against me his breathing heavy before opening his mouth to speak.

"Hey guys.."
