It's a Challenge [Dream team x Reader] UPDATES PAUSED

Part 8

Y/n's POV

As I open my eyes I see bright rays of sun shining through glass windows creating a small rainbow on the ground. I shift to get up but something pulls me back.

I look and see that I am laying against Dream and his arm was wrapped around me. Gently moving his arm away I get up and sneak outside to find some food.

'We have a lot to do today'

Near the river there was a herd of sheep with their back towards me. Unsheathing my sword I raise it up and attack the fluffy creatures causing them to poof into particles.

At the end of my 'hunt' I ended up with 7 raw mutton, 3 wool, and one sheep. Yes that's right, a sheep.

'I just hope they don't kill him'

Walking towards the house I break the dirt below the sheep causing it to fall in a hole and I leave it to go back inside.

I put the mutton into the smoker and wait for it to cook. Feeling a hand on my shoulder I turn around coming face to face with a tired looking George.

"Hey, good morning Georgie"

He gives me a look silently telling me not to call him that.

'Like that's ever going to happen'

Then proceeding to rolling his eyes and giving me a small smile.

"Good morning, what's in the smoker"

I pull out the cooked food and put it in the 'food chest.'

"Lunch, I don't want cooked mutton for breakfast. Besides we need to get going soon, we have a challenge to complete"

George nods before walking over to Dream getting ready to wake him up.

I walk over to Nick standing next to him and look at George.

George whispers across the room "3...2...1..."

On his cue we jump and land on the two sleeping boys waking them up.

"OOWWW"

"FUCKKK"

I get pushed off of Nick on the floor beside him and I collapse into a fit of laughter George soon joining me on the floor. Neither of us could stop laughing since when we did we looked at each other before erupting into another fit of laughs.

Grumbling under their breaths Dream and Nick get up and walk over grabbing apples for themselves and one for George and me.

Thanking them I take a bit finally starting to calm down and catching back my breath.

"You know you didn't have to jump us to wake us up"

I look at Nick, a smirk evident on my face.

"Well where's the fun in that"

Eating out apples in silence we finish up and head out the door for our long day.

"So we all have the same challenge right, 'full iron'?"

The three boys nod their heads not saying anything.

"Ok let's get going, I was thinking we should split up into groups of two so that we can get done faster" I say, waiting for their responses.

"I-"

"I'll go with you y/n" Nick says interrupting George.

"Ok, I guess it's you and me Dream"

After a quick discussion about the details about when to get back and how much iron we need we grab some spare food and set off in different directions.

Nick and I walk for a while just looking for a cave and enjoying each other's company when Nick decides to break the silence.

"You know you could have woken me up in a nicer way"

I let out a laugh as I recall the memory of this morning in my mind.

"I could have, but like I said, it wouldn't have been as fun."

"I doubt you would have jumped on Dream to wake him up."

I look at him, my eyebrow raised with a confused look on my face.

"What do you mean, we're all friends now I would wake an of you up that way"

Nick looks away from me and up at the hills biome we are now approaching.

"Well I guess I'm just saying you and Dream looked a little close last night"(I don't know if I mention this yet but you aren't wearing dream's hoodie anymore you gave it back)

"Awwww, is someone jealoussssss" I tease Nick poking his shoulder.

He once again rolled his eyes at me, a smile forming on his face.

"Ok ok I see what you mean, but no, Dream and I are just friends."

We continue walking and we soon get to the hills biome when I suddenly stop in my tracks and yank Nick's hand back causing him to lose his balance. He falls down on top of me, his face dangerously close to mine with only his elbows supporting him.

We both freeze not sure how to react and for just a moment I swear I saw him glance down at my lips.

He shifts his weight before quickly getting up off me breaking the trance I was in.

"Why did you do that"

I lay there for a moment longer remembering how close we were. How if I just sat up a little more or if he leaned down..

'No stop, you just met him, even though he is really nice and caring... no, you just met'

Rising to my feet I awkwardly scratch the back of my neck.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to pull you that hard I just didn't want you to fall"

I point to the deep ravine about 3 blocks ahead causing him to look.

"Oh yeah I didn't see that, you saved my life, thank you"

I smile and give him a reassuring nod.

"I bet there will be lots of iron down there."

Nick looks at me, his head turned down slightly due to the height difference and takes a step closer towards me.

"Well then, let's go."
