I like you

General POV:

Unannounced, Ricky strolls through Nini's door and greets her moms before coming upstairs to her room. He throws himself on her bed and shakes her awake. Nini isn't surprised to see Ricky in her room on a Saturday morning. But she sure is annoyed. Via Instagram, Nini found out that Ricky hung out with Sarah last night. Sarah has a major crush on Ricky, just as she does, so normally she got jealous and ghosted all of his texts and calls.

Jokingly, Ricky pokes her cheeks and nose to awaken her, but Nini snaps at him, "Leave me alone, Ricky." Ricky's face falls and confusion takes over. He doesn't understand what could make Nini so snappy this early. She rolls away from him and covers her head with the duvet. She was frustrated with how much seeing Ricky with other girls upset her.

She felt Ricky shuffle from one side of the bed to the other so he could be face to face with her. Lack of oxygen makes Nini uncover her face and she's greeted by Ricky gazing at her. His curls fall over his eyes, his lips are parted and so close to hers that she feels his breath fan her face. Heat spreads through her cheeks, tinting them pink. It feels like an eternity that they stare at each other eyes.

"I heard about this amazing new pancake place. I was wondering, would you like to come with me? It can be brunch since you woke up so late. What do you say?" Ricky asked hopefully.

As much as Nini loves pancakes and hanging out with Ricky, she was still salty, "Maybe another time."

Nini was giving him the cold shoulder, which made Ricky's confusion increase.

Usually, the two spent the weekends together, going out, staying in, watching movies, baking, anything, and everything they could think of as long as they are together.

Ricky trailed after Nini all morning around her house, trying to start a conversation, but she gave him short responses or completely ignored him.

"Nini, come on, what's up? You've been moody all morning. Is it that time of the month? If it is-" but Ricky didn't get to finish his sentence because she threw a pillow at his face.

"That's rude to say to a girl, first of all. And secondly, nothing is wrong. I just wanna stay in."

Neither of them believed Nini's lies, but silence occurred again between them. Usually, while they watch TV, Ricky's arm is around Nini and she's pressed into his side, head tucked in the crook of his neck. But today, the space between them could fit 5 more people in between. Nini sat curled up under a blanket and watched straight ahead into nothing. Ricky hated awkward silences so he started rambling, "We could run our lines later if you're up for it. I think I memorized most of my lines. Sarah and I run them through multiple times last night."

"Is that all you did?" Nini scoffed. Unfortunately, Ricky heard her spicy comeback and tilted his head to the side.

"Is that what this is all about? Sarah?"

"No, of course not. Why would you think that?" Nini knew he could see right through her lies but he said nothing about it.

Does she like me back? Ricky thought to himself. A small smirk stretched across his lips. He decided to press a little further to rile her up.

He scooted a little closer to her on the couch, "I don't know. You were never really fond of Sarah so maybe that's why. Did you know that she likes me. She confessed last night. She even tried to kiss me too."

Nini felt anger growing inside of her, her ears were red. She looked at him, eyes blazing. "Did you kiss her back?" she spat out, jealousy and venom dripping from her tone.
