Mall

Y/N POV

A few days later I exit my dorm and teleport to the local mall to meet Coco and Velvet. I arrive and see Coco already has a mountain of bags being carried by poor Velvet. I use my magic to take them out her hands and levitate them in the air.

Coco: "You finally made it."

Y/N: "I said I would be here."

Coco: "Come on, there's still some stuff I need to buy."

Y/N: "I believe you meant want."

Coco: "Eh."

She heads off into the next store while I just talk with Velvet. After a couple of hours we break for lunch at the local food court. I order a mountain of food and just eat without stopping.

Coco: "How are you able to eat and not gain anything?"

Y/N: "My secret."

I turn to the side and see Ruby walking out of a store while being followed by two shady males.

Y/N: "I had fun, let's do it again sometime."

I excuse myself and head off to help Ruby. I look forward and see the men grab Ruby by her arm and drag her away. I quicken my pace until I finally encounter the men; I see them trying to do something unforgivable when I whistle catching their attention.

Y/N: "Leave the girl alone."

Man: "Buzz off!"

Man2: "We're in the middle of something."

Y/N: "I won't ask twice."

I walk to them when man number two runs at me raising a longsword. I simply backhand him and send him through multiple walls. As I get closer to the man holding Ruby a little of my power leaks out making the ground lightly rumble and crack with each step I take. The man lets go of Ruby, pulls out a revolver and puts me in its crosshairs.

Man: "Stay back!"

Y/N: "Scum like you make me angry."

I take another step and the man fires his revolver sending a bullet into my forehead.

Ruby: "Y/N!"

Man: "Good riddance."

Y/N: "Rapists and killer, a terrible combo."

Man: "How?!"

I dig my fingers into the bullet hole, extract the bullet and flick it to the side.

Y/N: "That wasn't nice."

Man: "What the hell are you?!"

Y/N: "Power."

I hold out my right hand and flick my wrist upwards. This makes the man rattle and be launched into the sky. I flick my wrists downwards and the man crashes to the earth shattering his aura. I walk to Ruby and see her with tears in her eyes.

Y/N: "You okay?"

She throws her arms around me and nearly crushes my spine in a hug.

Ruby: "Thank you."

Y/N: "You're welcome."

Ruby: "How did you survive getting shot?"

Y/N: "I'm sorry but I can't say."

Ruby: "Oh, okay then."

Y/N: "Say, wanna hang out?"

Ruby: "Sure."

We walk out into the open with me "accidently" stomping on the broken man's chest on the way out.

Y/N: "What do you wanna do?"

Ruby: "Let's look around."

Y/N: "Your wish is my command."

We walk around the mall until I stop by a claw machine and take one of the prizes out of the machine.

Y/N: "Here."

She looks at the plushie and screams.

Ruby: "It's so cute!"

She grabs it and holds it close to her.

Y/N: "Huh, so this is what it's like to have a child."

I hear her stomach growl which makes her cover her face with her hood.

Y/N: "Hungry?"

Ruby: "Yes."

Y/N: "Then let's get you something to eat."

We walk back to the food court and along the way I see Ruby looks like she is contemplating something.

Y/N: "What's wrong?"

Ruby: "I was just wondering if I could do something."

Y/N: "As long as it's nothing bad."

Ruby: "Then, can I... hold your hand?"

Y/N: "Yikes, and here I thought you were innocent."

Ruby: "So no?"

Y/N: "Of course you can."

Ruby: "Fingers locked?"

Y/N: "You're pushing the line of a heretic, but sure."

We lock hands and head off to the food court. After we eat we head back off to Beacon for the day. I escort Ruby to her dorm where she turns around.

Ruby: "I had fun today. Thank you."

Y/N: "Don't mention it."

She heads into her room and I head to mine while still thinking about her asking to hold my hand.

Y/N: "She's such an innocent kid. I must protect the innocence."
