CASTLE'S POV
I just got back from meeting with my publisher. This was one of my most important meetings. My publisher asked me if I would write a new series of crime novels
I said that for now I will not continue to write "Nikki Heat" because I have some technical problems, but I accepted a new project, from now on I will write a new series of crime novels called Evidence. That's the best for now. I have to start something new, to divert my thoughts from everything that has been happening lately. I reached the hotel where I was staying, entered the lobby, and headed for the front desk. I left my cell phone there yesterday before the meeting because I didn't want anyone to disturb me. Did anyone call? I asked the receptionist. Yes one woman, she claimed to be your wife and begged me to tell you she called. Her name is Katy ... Kate or something. Thanks for the notice, I said briefly and headed for the room, I saw that the woman at the front desk was interested in what was going on.She was probably suspicious because she didn't see the wedding ring on my hand. But it didn't bother me too much, people are interested in my life and I'm used to it. But I never give a lot of information, especially when it comes to Kate because I know she doesn't like media attention and no matter what she did to me, I would never put her in such an awkward situation. I decided to take a shower, when I came out of the bathroom I decided to check my cell phone. I saw a missed call from Kate and one unread message, also from her. I'll just reply to her message I thought, I'll call her maybe a little later.
"Hey I am sorry I didn't repley you, I was busy" I wrote shortly. Alexis, her boyfriend and mother are still in the Hamptons, I was gripped by an indescribable desire to call my little girl and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

ALEXIS POV

Me, Max and Grandma sat by the pool and chatted about anything and everything. Just as we started talking about when we will get back home, my phone, on the white table, vibrated. "Hey dad!" I said happily. Hey, Pumpkin, how are you? He asked. I am great and what about you and Kate? We... We're good. Dad, is everything okay? for I asked concerned. Yes, yes, everything is ok, tell me how you spend your time in the Hamptons? It's great here dad, the three of us really enjoy it. Nice to hear that, how are things between you and that kid, what's his name Mark, Mike?
It's Max. His name is Max, you should have learned that already because we've been dating for six months and we'll definitely continue because things are going great, I said teasing him. Yes, yes I will, say hello to him! Give me your grandmother now. That was weird for him, otherwise he would have confronted me, when it came to something about guys, I had a feeling something wasn't right. I love you, Pumpkin! Talk to you soon! I love you too dad! MARTHA'S POV

Hey, kiddo! I answered. Hello mother, I heard my son's voice. What are you doing? , how are you? , I asked him.
Listen, mother I will tell you something, but you can't tell Alexis, ok? What happened Richard? I asked scared. Hey it's nothing, everything is ok... Just... I am in Spain mother... What the hell are you doing in Spain, Richard?? She asked. I am on book tour, I lied. Richard... don't lie to me! How did she discover me right away, I wondered to myself. I'm not lying, I'm really on a book tour mother, I kept lying because I didn't want her to worry. Really trust me, I repeated once more, to reassure her. Now I have to go mother because I have a meeting , I just wanted to hear my two redhead ladies. You got away, but only for now Richard, we'll talk when we get home. Yes we will, I promised her. Mother... and one more think. Yes, kiddo? I love you mother. Oh I love you too, kiddo. We finished the call. I felt better, in fact they lifted my spirit so much, that I decided to go and explore the city a bit.

LANIE'S POV

I got up later today, it was finally the weekend so I could sleep longer. If only my friend, who was sitting at the kitchen table and reading focused, would think the same. As I approached the table, I heard a low sob. When I looked at the text Kate was reading, it was clear to me that this was the reason for her sobbing.

The text contained detailed information about the new series of novels "Evidence", but judging by Kate's face, she did not have the strength to read it, the title was enough for her. Lanie, he ... he stopped writing "Nikki Heat", that's how we met, because of the book, I was his inspiration,his muse, and now he's cut the last link that still connected us.
