Doggy and you had been living together for almost a year now, and dated for five. Many of your coworkers had started joking about you two getting married, and making bets with overtime instead of real money about how long it was going to take. Well, until it happened, but that's a story for another time.
After a long day of both work, and wedding planning you both came back home exhausted. You changed, and sat down to listen to your favorite songs while Doggy showered, you tended to shower after dinner anyways. Doggy walked into your shared room, and changed. You didn't even glance up. Afterwards, he turned to you, and asked,
"Hey, Y/N, have we ever danced together before?"
"What?" You paused the music to think for a moment, "I don't think we have..."
"Well, we're gonna have to practice then," Doggy said.
"I don't know how to dance," you told him. Normally, this sort of thing would have embarrassed you, but you felt safe telling him anything.
"It's been a few years since I've done it, but I'm sure I can remember a thing or two," he held your hand, and took you to the living room. You put some classical music on.
"Okay, put your left hand on my back," Doggy instructed, as he put his left hand on your waist.
You did it.
He held you right hand, and smiled at you. Then, you began dancing. At this point, however, Doggy didn't know what to do anymore, and you din't either. You both awkwardly tried to figure it out until you tripped on he tripped on your foot.
You both shouted for a moment. He fell on top of you, but immediately got off, and sat in his knees.
"Are you okay, love!? Did I hurt you, I'm sorry!" He quickly helped you sit down.
"I'm okay," you laughed a little.
Doggy was relieved to hear that. He pulled you in closer, and held you tight. You hugged him. He laid you down on the carpet, and simply stated, "Dancing can wait until another day. Let's just stay like this for a little time, okay?"
"Of course, honey," you said softly, as you hugged him even tighter than before, and stayed silent. Only the beautiful music audible throughout the house.
