First Date (Doggy x Reader)⛅️

You, and Doggy went out for some donuts and coffee, still in uniform straight after work. You sat down on a table for two, next to the window which showed the street outside. It was winter, so it was already dark by 5pm, which was the time for your date. You two sat there and chatted about work for a while.
"So, how's life outside of work?" He asked.
"Pretty well! I invested in a restaurant on the stock market, just in case," you told him.
"Really? Didn't know you of all people would do that," Doggy was a little surprised.
"What can I say? You always need a back up plan, in case the economy crashes or you lose your job, or an emergency happens, ya know?"
"You're our best detective, Y/N! Why would you ever get fired?"
"I'm sure I'm not that great, besides you never know. Anyways, how's your life been?"
"Nothing too exciting. I've started to read more, and work out."
"That sounds nice," you blushed, "So, what are you reading?"
"Right now? F/B."
"I read that too!"
"Really? We should read the sequel together then."
"Definitely. Where are you in the story?"
"I'm almost done, I'm only missing one chapter. Let's start reading the sequel next week, do you have Sunday off?"
"Yeah! Is 2pm okay with you?"
"Of course!" Doggy paused after that to finish eating his last donut.
You sipped your coffee and smiled at him. He was so adorable.
"I'll pay," he said.
"Half and half."
"It's fine, don't worry cutie."
"I insist."
"Really, it's fine-"
"Excuse me!"
"Yes?" A waitress came over.
"Could I pay?" You asked.
"Yes, just one moment," she looked down at a notepad, "That'll be 15 pounds." (I'm pretty sure Piggy takes place in the UK)
You handed her a twenty before Doggy could protest, and she gave you your change.
Doggy looked at you quietly as you put the cash in you wallet/purse.
He sighed.
"Uhhh, Doggy?" You asked.
"Oh sorry, he got lost in your eyes," he winked, making you blush.
You giggled, and grabbed his arm, as you both walked out of the restaurant.

Years later

"And that's how my first date with your father went, kids," you told your son and daughter who were in the back of the car.
