AJ Mills opened the door of her moms car and stepped out, sucking in a breath as she looked up at the house in front of her.

Tumbling out of the car behind her was her Australian Shepard, Jackson. She laughed softly as she watched him race ahead of her to the open front door.

She turned away from the house in front of her to look around at the other houses in the neighborhood. They were bigger than the houses back in her old neighborhood, nicer too.

Her attention was brought away from the houses when her mother called out her name.

"Aubrey-Jane!"

AJ grimaced at the name. She didn't even go by Aubrey-Jane. Before it used to just be Aubrey until one day when she decided she hated her name. That's when her and her Aunt Ali came up with AJ.

"Stop standing there and help us with the boxes!" Her mom called to her from the doorway.

AJ sighed softly as she grabbed some of the boxes before walking, well mostly limping in. As she passed her mother she mumbled "It's AJ."

Her mom nodded "You're friends can call you that but I'm your mother and Aubrey-Jane is more elegant."

AJ snorted "What friends?" She asked mostly herself. There was not one friend that her nor her mother could name at this point. There was a reason why she was moving states three weeks into the new school year.

She walked up the stairs to go to the room that was going to be hers. AJ set the boxes down and looked around at the room.

It was a plain beige color with a hardwood floor. The best part about it was the little balcony that was seated on the roof right outside of her window.

"Aubrey!" Her dad called from downstairs, "We still need help!"

AJ huffed and blew some air up on her bangs causing them to float up. She turned on her heel and walked out of the room. She knew she should have milked her injuries more than she already had done, but it was too late for that now.

For the next half hour she helped her parents bring in the boxes. And then for the next few hours she spent it helping them set up their new house.

When they were finished it looked halfway decent but it wasn't quite home.

The curly haired girl missed her home in Colorado but knew that it was a good thing she got out of there due to her dads new vice principal job and her own temper.

The one person that AJ will miss the most is none other than her Aunt, Ali Mills.

Ali was the one who was always there for her no matter what. Whether she came home from school sobbing because of what happened that day or to congratulate her when she finally mastered a move in karate.

To her and her aunt karate is one of the best things on earth. AJ loved hearing her aunts stories about the 80's and Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso.

It made her laugh thinking about how wild the rivalry between the two was. She never would have guessed she would end up in the same place that it all went down.

In fact she had plans to go to Cobra Kai and sign up because of what her aunt told her when they found the Cobra Kai website and commercials.

"If there is one person who can bring back and change Cobra Kai, it's Johnny Lawrence."

AJ was excited to train with him, due to all the kind of embarrassing stories her aunt has told her.

The girl soon found herself sitting on her roof scrolling through different articles about the town she had just moved into. Jackson was laying next to her on the balcony asleep.
