Inseparable//A Cobra Kai Story

Chapter 9

The following day at school AJ was sitting at the Cobra Kai table at lunch playing with one of her rings as she listened to some of the boys ramble on about a new move that they wanted to try.

AJ turned to look over at Bert who was sitting at a different table with some random kid that she didn't know. She felt slightly bad for him but then she remembered Kreese's words about the strong and the weak.

All of a sudden she saw Hawks arm drape across the back of her seat. AJ cleared her throat softly before turning back around. Her gaze fell on Moon standing in front of the table looking at her.

"Hey Moon." AJ said with a small smile on her face.

"Hi AJ, can I talk to you?" Moon asked as she briefly glanced at Hawks stone cold expression.

"Sure." AJ nodded as she waited for the girl to start talking.

Moon looked back at her again, "Alone."

"Oh yeah." AJ told her as she stood up brushing her hair back.

Hawk looked between the two then back at Moon still not happy with her being there.

Moon refused to look at him again as she turned and walked away from the table with AJ. AJ noticed the tension between the two of them and felt her stomach twist as she tried to figure out why the sweet girl in front of her would hate Hawk, sure he wasn't the nicest to some people but still he couldn't have done anything that bad.

"So the car wash is after school and I was wondering if you made a decision on whether or not you would be there?" Moon asked her with a small smile.

AJ bit her lip before nodding, she hadn't thought about it that much but after meeting Miguel she wanted to help him out as much as she could.

"I'll be there." She stated after a moment of contemplation.

"Great!" Moon exclaimed hugging her for a brief second. "I thought you would say no because Miyagi-Do are the ones hosting it."

AJ froze at the mention of Miyagi-Do, "O-oh well I'm sure it won't matter because it's all for Miguel right?"

Moon looked at her with a nervous expression, "I don't know AJ, they really hate Miyagi-Do especially Hawk, but I'm glad your nothing like them."

AJ decided to not comment on the statement that the girl made and instead choice to bring up her questions about her and Hawk.

"Speaking of Hawk, why do you hate him so much?" AJ asked her.

"What do you mean?" Moon looked at her nervously.

"Oh come on you refused to look at him the entire time you were by the table," AJ laughed a bit "Did you two date or something?"

"We dated" Moon answered softly as they both glanced over at the Cobra Kai table where everyone was staring at them.

AJ nodded slowly as she looked away from the table back at the girl. She couldn't explain it but in a way she felt kind of crushed. In her opinion Moon was by far more prettier and nicer than she ever will be. By knowing this, AJ knew now there was no way Hawk would ever like her like that. AJ began to pick at her nails, a habit that she had when she felt self conscious. She didn't even know why she cared so much about him having a crush on her, it wasn't like she had one on him.

"That explains the tension between you two." AJ finally said after a while.

Moon nodded a bit staring at her closely, "Well I can't wait to see you at the car wash!" She walked back to her table after waving at AJ.

"Yeah can't wait." AJ muttered watching the girl walk away.

She sighed as she walked back to the Cobra Kai table once again sitting next to Hawk.
