The next morning AJ found herself still on the floor. She sighed softly as she pushed herself up off the ground.
AJ walked over to her mirror and her eyes widened staring at her reflection. She looked like a mess. Her hair was all over the place and her eyes were red and puffy. AJ blew some air on her bangs before pulling her hair into a bun.
Her and Jackson both left her room walking down to the kitchen. AJ made her way over to the coffee machine and grabbed a cup setting it down on the counter.
"No hello?" A voice called out to her from the table.
AJ gasped loudly as she turned around. Ali was seated at the kitchen table with a smirk.
She waved at her niece, "Hey Kiddo."
"Aunt Ali!" AJ exclaimed excitedly as she ran over to her.
Ali stood up laughing as she hugged her niece tightly.
"I missed you too." Ali laughed as she rubbed her nieces back gently.
AJ stepped away from her to sit down next to her "I thought you weren't coming up until tomorrow."
"I was forced to come up a day earlier so I can go to the country club holiday party." Ali told her.
AJ snorted "Good luck with that." she stood and continued to make her coffee.
"Watch it before I force you to come with." Ali warned her.
AJ gasped dramatically as she stared at her aunt "You wouldn't dare."
"Try me." Ali said with a grin.
"You're evil." AJ sat back down holding her coffee.
Ali laughed "I know." she smiled a little "How are you holding up? What happened yesterday?"
Every night AJ and Ali had talked on the phone about what was going on in the valley. For the past couple of calls they have all resulted in tears. Yesterday was the only day that they didn't call and AJ wasn't looking forward to telling her.
"Well school was absolute hell yesterday." AJ stated with a nod "It's not every day that you get canned dog food dumped on your head."
"What?" Ali stared at her in concern "Do your parents know that happened?"
"How am I supposed to tell them?" AJ whispered "They still like Sawyer, in fact they keep wanting to invite the Wilson's over for dinner"
"Even after what happened at your old school with the fight?" Ali asked.
"They still think I attacked them over nothing. My locker was cleaned up before any administrators got there." AJ sighed "So if I tell them what happened I'm afraid it will just blow up in my face."
Ali nodded "What happened after that?"
"Luckily I was Demetri and Yasmine and they brought me to the bathroom where Yasmine then washed my head in the sink." AJ recalled "Then I fought with Demetri over his shirt. Oh on the way there we ran into Hawk."
Ali nodded a little listening to her story. She felt terrible that her niece went through this but was glad she wasn't going through it alone this time.
"And then at the end of the day we saw him again and I yelled that I hated him before storming out" AJ explained "Kind of dramatic but it seemed fitting. Then I drove to that park that you took me to once and cried in my car for a while. And then I drove to karate where I trained for a while before finally coming home to shower. I cried for a little longer before I got dragged to the beach with friends. It was going good but then Hawk and Sawyer show up."
