**Nicole POV
Melody: Well the truth is I left becau-
What? Why doesn't she finish her... oh. Mr. Varsela caught her. I was stifling a smile, because he saw her off task and not me.
Nicole: Why?
Melody: Well.... Remember that day when your sister said she left to "go buy new shoes"?
How could I forget? She left, and came back a few hours later with a puppy.
Nicole: Yeah....
Melody: Well, she actually came to my house, I DIDN'T INVITE HER, and she told me how my life could be if I ditched you.
I knew Zoë must have bribed her... Promising her popularity, no doubt.
"Ok class, time for a hands on lab experiment. On each table there are test tubes, safety goggles, beakers, scales, everything. You and your partner will follow the instructions I have written on the board. You have ten minutes, and this counts as fifty points." Mr. Varsela said, his voice rising as he passed my table. Melody and I put our phones back in our pockets, and did what we were told. Every so often we exchanged looks, saying that we would finish our conversation later.
