CHAPTER 4
NICOLE POV**
"AH!!" I sensed the high pitched scream coming before I heard it. I ran into the room in which my family was being held. My mom was fanning my sisters cheeks to get rid of the bright red coloring that was just created. Dad was covering his ears. The first thing that struck my eyesight was a big neon bright sign that read "Happy Birthday Zoe!". My parents had decorated the room as a huge party place. Just for Zoe.
They had planned an entire sweet sixteen party. For her. Only her. They also had the room enlarged, so over 100 guests could fit inside. I tried to not let my sorrow show by pretending I was more interested in the Porsche. It didn't work.
"Jealous much?" taunted Zoe, her mouth an inch away from my ear. She hastily pulled back from me (I could almost hear the hiss of a snake escape her mouth) and skipped over to thank and hug my parents. I said goodbye without even turning back.
I was about to hop into my present- which unexpectedly looked terrible compared to what had just went down- when I realized I didn't have a drivers liscense. My birthday was just getting worse and worse.
