The next day for the first lesson I had was Care of Magical Creatures with Professor GrubblyPlank, Lily, James and Sirius also had this class so we all walked down to the edge of the forbidden forest and there stood the teacher with a bunch of, what looked like skeletal horses.
"Before I tell you what's in front of you, who can see them?" He asked pointing to the creatures next to him. I thought it was odd but nonetheless raised my hand, oddly enough I was the only one to raise my hand.
"Sir, what are they?" I asked.
"They Miss Mikaelson are called Threstrals. Only someone who has seen death can see them." He said looking at me sadly, everyone gasped and looked at me.
I just nodded and looked at the ground while flashes of my mom's death every death I've seen flashed through my mind, my eyes glowed and I tried to control it but I could feel myself wanting to shift.
I picked up my bag I didn't know that fell and ran back up to the castle and into the abandoned girls bathroom and walked up to the sink and mirror, I gripped the sink so tight my knuckles started turning white and the sink started cracking, I looked at the mirror and saw my eyes glowing, I tried taking deep breaths but it wasnt working my eyes wouldn't change back. I turned an faced the toilet stalls and screamed, a magical wave hit them and they crumbled the toilets started flooding I screamed again before I slid down the wall crying and everything around me started breaking flying something, I felt the sinks do the same thing till I was drenched in water.
I heard lots of footsteps, I didn't care I just kept crying.
"What is going on here?" A shrill voice known as Professor McGonagall asked walking in.
I looked up to see her, Dumbledore, a bunch of other Professor's, Lily, Marlene, Alice and the Marauders.
I looked up at them from where I was sitting, seeing their shocked faces I managed to choke out; "I... I couldn't control it. I- I really tried Professor, but, I couldn't." I said fresh tears rolling down my face.
She along with Dumbledore sighed and shooed of the other Professor's while everyone still stood their shocked.
"It's okay Hope. Get dry and get changed before heading meeting me in Professor Dumbledore's office." She kindly and softly before walking off with Dumbledore.
"Hope what happened?" Lily asked softly walking up to me and hugging me.
I leaned into the hug and explained. "Well, what the Professor said, it got to me. Why are you guys here, I thought you had different classes?" I asked looking at Remus and Peter.
"We do, we saw you run past the classroom, then followed by the girls, Sirius and James, then the whole castle shook and we followed which was shortly followed by the Professor's." Remus said.
"I'm sorry guys for pulling you out of class. Wait... The whole castle shook?" I asked, they all nodded. I stood up pacing. "This is bad. This is really really bad." I mumbling and still pacing.
"Why?" Sirius asked.
"Why? Why?! Because I could hurt one of you. That's why! Everyone I get close to either betrays me, leaves me, dies or gets caught in the crossfire of Mikaelson family drama. It's inevitable." I said.
"What makes you think that?" Marlene asked.
I stopped pacing and looked at the girls.
"It's just what happens. And you seven are great friends, and I don't want to be the reason of any of you getting hurt." I said sadly.
"We won't. The almighty tribrid will make sure of it." Sirius joked, I laughed and nodded.
"Wait, tribrid?" Alice asked.
"Oh right, haven't explained that part to you guys yet. Ask the boys, research it or ask someone else then the things you don't understand, ask me." I said and they nodded.
"I have to go see Dumbledore. See you guys later." I said grabbing my bag and walking to Dumbledore's office.
I said the password, knocked on the door and heard a faint 'Come in' I did that and sat on the chair in front of the desk.
"Gave us quite the scare Miss Mikaelson." Professor Dumbledore said looking at me over his half-mooned spectacles." He said.
"I didn't mean to make the castle shake. It was either go to the bathroom and do... that. Or shift in front of the class." I said chuckling dryly.
"You did the right thing. I also heard what you did for Mr Lupin, that was a very kind thing." He said.
"Oh... you mean the moonlight thing." I said and he nodded. "As I said to Sirius, what I did wasn't nice it was decent, I'm not capable of doing good. He's a kind kid who shouldn't have to be through what he has." I said.
"If that is what you think." He said vaguely.
"Um Professor?" I asked.
"Yes?" He asked urging for me to continue.
"What kind of creatures are in the forbidden forest?" I asked curiously.
"Werewolves, unicorns, centaurs. Different ones. If you want to shift in the forest, I must urge you not to go very deep. I also understand that you can take care of yourself and that if you come across a werewolf you would be fine, but some may challenge you and you could get hurt. But, it is fine, just a warning. You can have the rest of classes off, as well as your friends. Do tell them." He said, I nodded and walked off.
I got to the common room to see my friends sitting, waiting for me. They saw me walk in and they all stood up waiting for me to talk.
"Good news you lot have the rest of classes off, and bad news... there is none." I said smiling.
"Yes!" James said we all just laughed at him.
"I'm going to get changed then go for a walk." I said and before they could answer I went to my dormitory changed into black vans, black yoga pants and an overly large grey Henley shirt that was my dads, that fell just off my right shoulder so that if my hair moves, you can see my crescent birthmark.
